Title: Big M opening weekend wagering shows huge increase
Post by: stanetelman on January 14, 2023, 09:59:44 AM: “The Meadowlands handle far exceeds the handle of any nighttime track in North America, including the Thoroughbreds,” said Big M Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Jason Settlemoir. “We are the only U.S. harness track running this Saturday night and we fully expect to top the $4 million dollar mark in total handle. Anything less would be very disappointing."

Just last year they had $75,000 /$100,000 claimers. And many were claimed. They also had Nice OPENS. This year they feature GSY and Trackmaster. Definitely a tough business trend. What's with $4 million? They should do 5 million with no competition.

I'm on the mailing list and they never asked me. 10 horse fields won't last once the other tracks reopen and they lose some of their horse population. That is what he is bragging about this week.
