Title: Delaware Fair
Post by: TW on September 17, 2020, 06:35:55 PM
18 races on the card Sunday at the Delaware County Fair.  For the past 32 or 33 years, Little Brown Jug week has been vacation week for me and I would be sitting in reserved seats doing nothing but reading race programs and wagering.

The general concepts still apply, but this year I will be sitting at home watching TVG online.  I'm still psyched, but in a different sense.

Glad the races are available via online simulcast.  I really did not want to drive to ScD 5/8 to sit around staring at a TV monitor all week.  Easier to watch online like I've done with ScD 5/8 all season.

Lock and load...

Well...I guess you won't be watching then.

I was actually thinking how nice it would be if Barry Vicroy was hired to announce.

Roger detracts from the racing.  One benefit of watching online is that he can be muted.

I get it that the Jug is premier and the Juggette is the second string...

But for a headline race on Wednesday and going 2 heats.

The final for the fillies goes for only $142k ?

And after just watching Pressley win a race (nice drive commanding the lead) --- let me for the first time this season say

Wendy - shut the FUCK UP, even my wife just asked what was her problem.... Wendy found her way to Delaware again.

The ridiculous post position draw rules is what ruins the race.  The Jug is usually no different.  Drawing post position based on order of finish in the elims on a half mile track no less creates extreme bias and an unbetable race.  Thats what needs to be changed.

I did watch races at the Meadows much and thank the good Lord for  that I’m sure most disagree but Roger is by far the most overrated announcer in history. The only guy currently worse in the Hawthorne announcer. I just met the announcer for Keeneland Kurt Becker who also calls the Kentucky Derby on the radio side as well as NASCAR. Get that guy to call the races. If you have ever heard him call the Breeders Cup he never misses a beat.

Joe Bongiorno drives in the Jug & Jugette were real good. He is on a roll. I know many hate on him but you must give Joe his due.

JOEY WON THE JUG!!!  CONGRATULATIONS TO JOEY B AND FAMILY

Wilder must have forgotten it was the biggest race in his life, he has the rail. I know ya go with who got ya there, but there were some pretty good BIG money drivers sitting on the sidelines.

Yeah and you would piss your pants sitting behind a horse moving that fast, or maybe I should say you would be scared white as a ghost, whatever just STFU.

oh, yes.

2 wheels... 4 legs ... sitting down ... handle bars ... it's SOOOooooo hard ngc3 ngc3

ANYBODY can do it.

And, it's over rated.

Personally, I don't care for the close up horse experience.  Neither did Jerry Bailey. tmbz1

We're all still waiting for you to impress us.
