first, $5000.00 to be returned. There were mitigating circumstances involved when
deciding the penalty. The judges believe it was a case of contamination due to the fact
that several people involved with the stable had used the medication and had direct
contact with the horse. Mr. Miller has been advised that any further violations involving
this medication will be treated with severe consequences, including a full suspension of
his license.

So Whisky Wizzard was entered in tonight's 14th race with Melissa Essig bearding for Bowermaster.
In the pre show when giving the changes Cross only said the horse was withdrawn.
Even though Cross had listed sick as the reason other horses had been scratched on the card.
Then in her pre race preview during the 12th race Emily said the horse was scratched sick.
At no time earlier had Cross said the horse was sick, only had that he been withdrawn.
So which was it?
Was the horse sick because he missed his milkshaking or Essig dinged for acting as a beard? 11.dt

When the milkshaking Shane Bowermaster got caught around July 17th his udrs was 0.375
Now a month later his UDRS is 0.359
Appears he has gone down right?
Well his horses that got to race before his initial suspension all went backwards.

The Indiana Horse Racing Commission met yesterday (Oct 1, 2020) and the first item published on the agenda was "Settlement Agreement between Indiana Horse Racing Commission Staff and Shane Bowermaster"
As I understand it (I did NOT attend the meeting) the agreement calls for Shane Bowermaster to serve the remainder of his 15 day suspension and then he must continue to have his horses on the grounds of Hoosier Park in the morning on the day of any race he is in.
At the meeting, Joe Morris of Eldorado indicated that Hoosier Park will rehab a barn for next year to include video cameras in individual stalls. It won't be cheap. I believe certain select trainers will be required to stable on track.
I repeat, I am only repeating information I have received from folks I trust, but please don't take this as gospel until it comes out in some sort of official ruling or when minutes of the meeting are released to the public. I personally found the news very encouraging.
