It's a depressed county. Nobody is there to go to a concert. Winters are extremely harsh. Bethel Woods is 8 miles up the road and they only have about 20 shows per year to a very small crowd and the acts were all at their peak about 30 to 40 years ago. Another losing proposition for sure.

place has been a dump for years. horsemen never got a decent cut of the tracks revenue. horsemen had to supplement with some questionable races. they all together put the nails in the coffin.

The owners want to go in a different direction. They want to try a concert venue combined with some kind of theme park is the word . Maybe they ditch the casino as well 🤷🏼♂️

The Yonkers racetrack will be a hotel in the coming years. Does anyone know the length of the correct horsemen"s contract? When does it expire? That will probably be the end.

Batavia owned by Western Region OTB (state) and Buffalo is owned by Erie Agricultural Society basically a non profit, money goes right to back into fairgrounds. Monticello is fucked, it´s a shame place was a showcase in the 60´s and 70´s. Yonkers has been a shit hole for decades. God or Gural keeps Vernon and Tioga going, so those are under his whims. Saratoga is Saratoga Casino and Hotel, doesen´t even have racing in the name anymore. I think Buffalo and Batavia have a better chance of surviving.

Will the drivers and trainers be panhandling in between races for purse money? This "company", originally Empire Resorts, has made every wrong decision that can be made from day one and has burned money right and left from day one. Makes one wonder why the stock price tanked the afternoon they got the license all those years ago and why the entire operation of Catskills Resorts and Monticello Raceway have lost how many millions.... a sad sideshow that will not end well, unfortunately.
just read they installed $1,000,000 air filtration/sanitizing stations/ temperture scanners..that china fun house will be up and Loosing money in no time! and we'll be watching the ponies again!

The Judge who ruled against Joe--is a DEMOCRAT-didnt follow the Law-and gave an OPINION verdict-not based on any Law. Did this because Democrats are on an agenda--create as much financial hardship as possible-wreck economies--all to make Trump look bad in November.Only care about themselves-dont give a fuck about anyone else.
These Judge Mfers-have Jobs-so they have power to do whatever they want until the election. NJ,NY,PA--are being run into the ground financially. Watch them offer handouts,have sanctuary cities,open the borders,raise taxes etc- to get votes all to remove Trump.
Joe Faraldo-now has to find a Court-to appeal this BS ruling but find a Judge who is going to follow the Law-not a Democrat agenda.

Has no problem sending Covid patients into nursing homes killing 1000's-yet wont open a Casino-where all procedures possible to sanitize the place have been put in place.

My Dad was a Vet and served his Country with honor. Because when Thomas Jefferson lived at Monticello he decided that postponing elections should be ok every hundred years or so. This could be the one in a hundred that he had planned for. After he was done planning he went back to Monticello to watch the harness races! Does that explain it?
