With the Johnstons Balmoral became poisoned ground after Johnny conspired to bribe a politician for slots. Billy played more favorites that you bet on over the years...the little guy got waxed and hillbillies like Erv and others who kissed ass got away with robbing and stealing purses for way too long.

He payed and he played. Made great things happen for sportsmans, just couldn't get past his own greed which is what drives a business man. Was always kind and fair to my father and grandfather. RIP

They even hid it in some bullshit fund until Tony Morgan was IHHA president and exposed them. He was a total drunk that tried to intimidate the horseman and anyone who got in his way. He never tried to save harness racing the only thing he tried to save was his cash cow. His years of stupidity and cheapness are why harness racing is where it is now.
