not a starting point at all,Sports Creek if it opens will fail, there is zero fan interest in it.As far as sports gambling, the new bill is worthless,a total joke as the juice is absurd, you want to lay 13/10?  When you can play offshore or with a local at 11/10. Nothing nothing nothing about this bill is good for gambling

Better off sticking with the local fixture at your neighborhood gin mill that takes action.

13-10 won't attract any serious players. I thought Ny St had th most f*&+Ed legislature and governor (see sports wagering not online and no site in NYC).

If you play at 13-10 at least pick up some of that newly legalized smoke - it will make the screwing your getting a little easier.

I haven't seen 1 thing that says all sports betting will be laying 30% on a bet. Please post link or stfu!

Sports betting
Sports wagering will be legalized and can be offered live or online by existing casinos.
Sports betting will be taxed at a rate of 8.4%, with an extra 3.25% paid by casinos in the City of Detroit. That's down from a rate of 8.75% in a version the state House passed earlier.
Proceeds from the 8.4% tax on sports betting will be divided as follows: 30% to the city in which the sports betting operator's casino is located, to be spent on policing and other public safety programs; 65% to the state's Internet Sports Betting Fund, and 5% or up to $3 million annually to a fund to support and (promote the horse racing industry.)  tmbz1
Read the Legislation: House Bill 4916, 4917, and 4918.

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed legislation Friday to legalize sports betting and internet gambling, calling it a bipartisan win for the state that will bolster funding for public schools and permanently dedicated funding to help first responders who get cancer from fighting fires.

The laws take effect immediately, but wagering will not start for a number of months because commercial and tribal casinos need to obtain state licenses. Lawmakers have said they are hopeful that sports betting and online gambling could start in time for the NCAA men's basketball tournament in March.

Whitmer said her priority in negotiations was ensuring that the new gambling does not negatively impact the $15.1 billion school aid fund, which is funded in part by the i-Lottery, and boosting the school aid fund.

All current forms of casino games will be offered online or on mobile devices once casinos are licensed. Those who are 21 or older will be able to participate.

that's not at all what it means.

The "tax rates" are what will be paid on the sports book aggregate hold or win.

It has nothing to do with bettors.

How does the bill support horse racing?  Are part of the winnings added to the purse account?  Are there going to be slots at the tracks?

Law is never plain stated is it.

I would imagine the sports betting public would get the same basic deal or very very close to what you have in other states. They'd have to to be competive. Having dealt with the nj and my casinos and bookies for yrs, casinos basically charge the public 10 percent juice but adjust up and down to control the action so it approaches equal amounts bet on each team. So you might have put up 12 percent juice if you want Kc to beat the bears but would only put up 8 percent if you wanted the bears.

Hope it helps Michigan racing; fuckin subsidies are kicked all over the place  and l got no problem with harness getting a chunk.

Be surprised if it's as much $ to the state or racing as suggested though.

Bettors be smarter to play sports than racing.  That's what I mostly do, I played breeders cup and one big m card in last six months but churned a lot sports betting.

I went to harrison and the grandstands were full and people had to pay to sit there.  Definitely more than that is watching live at northville.  Only way you are going to get people to breed is to pump this money into it.

They had betting at Allegan County Fair for one year about 30 years ago.
They couldn't retain another licence from the Startate for the next fair.
Jackson Harness Raceway complained.
