i rarely watch replays, but this post was correct. did take 2 major bad bad steps and almost went down. what a shame. definitely mine and many others favorite horse of all time. he was incredible in his prime. was never quite "right" but now its obviously worse. was obviously hoping he could come back at least sound and close to form. just glad he didnt go down. that wouldve been a horrible story to read.

Who is the track vet that let this horse race? It was sad to see Foiled Again race so long but at least he was sound and had a good gait. I think the saddest part of watching WIJI in this race was seeing how much he wanted to race and fight. Good on Morand for basically shutting him down after that near fall.

I'm not even sure about these people. This horse should be as LUCPARK said let to live his life out in green pastures yet they still try to get every drop out of the lemon. There has to be a way to implement mandatory retirement and if there is not other than when a horse turns 14 then it should be a rule or law.

Wiggle isn't really "lame" It's something else. He looks the same as he always did but he throws in these stumbling steps that make whatever is wrong with him seem more neurological than actual lameness. Through the stretch he was smooth. In the old days something like this would almost always be some kind of interference a little worse than crossfiring or jumping on a quarter but in this horse's case it looks like something is hurting him but only every now like when you step out onto your driveway in bare feet and step on a rock and then and that's when he is like ooooch ouch oooch but then he recovers. If he was LAME this wouldn't look like this. I suspect that they are missing something ( usually knees ) or he has something they know about and can't keep it sound. Something like a micro-fracture or something like that. I wonder how much top notch diagnosis he has actually gotten. Has he had nuclear scans at New Bolton or Cornell? Even if he has a conventional injury like a bow or a check ligament he would not act like this. He would just look lame ALL THE TIME. but he does not look lame all the time when he goes. I agree that he should not race again unless he gets a definitive diagnosis of something they do not already know about. I have a hint of what it is, but I will reserve judgement.

That 1st half in 53 sure will tighten one up..But that last half in 58 shows they're cooked. I'm sure Morand had his orders to air him out and I really think he'll be better next week. (If he can walk today).

Sorry ass clown..... but these "opens" at Dover are watered down end of the year dashes. When you are getting crushed by Billy Badger and Quality Bud at any time you are in bad shape. Both of those horses were at the lower and lowest condition levels at M1 for a good part of last year and they are a very good bench mark as to where this horse is. A real horse shrugs off G Naps raced out rat and finishes. Time is irrelevant and he was done long before the 3/4 quarters. Yes he will probably improve, but these are sheer rats that he is up against faking as open types at this time of year. Will continue to be overbet like these last 3 tries and big money will be on him next time thinking now he's "tight". Sorry but if he beats Billy Badger and Quality Bud next out he's beaten NOBODY.

Wow, I enjoy the knowledge always chiming in. Bad horse cause he cant go First quarter in 26, and the mile goes in 1:50 after long lay off. Maybe grab a hold of him and give him some confidence and don't gut him. Driver needs to race him intelligently to see where he is at. Juice isn't going to work until he is tip top physically. He may never be that good again, this isn't the way to race a horse to get him to his best.

Heard the horse didn’t warm up good. I think the lameness is under control somewhat, but sounds like some internal damage is not getting better. He wasn’t getting the top and obviously not good enough to come first up.....

"Their" horse is being put on the track in parimutuel starts without being asked to do any extra out there and the dumb punters betting him on past glory are being shafted. The week he won the open he was all out off a perfect trip with a slow opening half out of the pocket, with zero outside flow. Two weeks ago, asked NOTHING of the horse... finished last... yesterday.... floats off the gate....tucks 5th....sits in, again asked for NOTHING, dead last. Using parimutuel starts to experiment is what qualifiers are for.... thats why it matters, but that is also why the sport has died from a fan/interest stand point.

Let me tell you about internal damage. Some dumb trainers ignore the blood and hemo counts. They find out they fucked up this horse when they get him tip top physically and gas him up a few times and it’s doesn’t help the horse like it used to. I guarantee Montrell and big daddy have a plan when they realize the gas is not helping. It’s called grab ahold of him and duck. Don’t embarrass the horse and back to the lab for another try...

totally agree. The regulatory part of this business is a joke. Top trainers are chemist and always tied to a vet or supplier somehow. Dumb ones get caught, smart ones fly under the radar and gas when needed. What is it going to take to put a real testing plan in place? Feb 15 was the pay by date to make him eligible to FFA STEAKS , and it takes horses like this 7-10 starts to shed weight and tighten up to compete in that class. Only you 2500 claimer types talk about dropping him down. Shows that most of you wouldn't know what to do with a horse like this if lightning struck and someone gave you one. Drop him down, the common overnighters say run in a nw. He either races in STEAKS , or he doesn't race at all.

There is only one class they want to race this class in, and that is FFA open stakes, not the weekly open that so many of you hayseeds find desirable. Feb 15 was the pay by date to make him eligible to FFA STEAKS , and it takes horses like this 7-10 starts to shed weight and tighten up to compete in that class. Only you 2500 claimer types talk about dropping him down. Shows that most of you wouldn't know what to do with a horse like this if lightning struck and someone gave you one. Drop him down, the common overnighters say run in a nw. He either races in STEAKS , or he doesn't race at all.

Db your probably right part of team Teague. The only way WIJI wins in stakes company is if the horse is juiced to the eyeballs and then your taking a chance this horse collapses because he can't go anymore miles and then a big pileup happens and other drivers and horses get hurt.

I agree, and I think they were tipped off what was going on and that’s why they have been racing “honest” every week. We see how a normal horse races, but he’s clean. I knew something was up, these connections normally like to bring attention to themselves, not the case these days!!!
