Title: Mohawk Saturday Night
Post by: whiptherabbit on July 21, 2018, 03:13:58 PM
Race#5-#7 Kiwi Focus N 8-1 Theres a severe lack of hate speed in here, can see her blasting off the wings tonight.

Race#8-#7 HP Pandora 12-1 Debuts For Auciello off the private purchase. Will be handled aggressively & she'll either put in a big mile or be priced accordingly next week.

Best Of Luck

Are they any any horses tonight that are entered that are worth a play at odds looking over the program seems to be tough tonight without the normal cheating as last night's card of bombs ????

Have you not noticed that the Dr's horses are not what they once were? No more do you see his, Colemans or Moreaus horses runnin off the screen. Unfortunately the agency keeps the bettors uninformed as to the changes implemented that impacted these guys and a few others.

I was looking at Dance with Joe in the 3rd since that field is really bad. Seen a few others ship in from Three Rivers and knock quite a few seconds off. Normally Roy going to it would be a huge upgrade in my eyes but last night he didn't drive a single winner and I'm wondering how much that spill has affected him. Still if the price is right 5/1 or better, I'm betting to win.

#2 WAIKIKI HANOVER 10/1 ml has drawn outside twice in first two starts over this surface. First start was a solid second to a 1/5 runaway winner in A Rod Hall. Last start Mcnair blasted from 9 post and tried a front end mission until Waikiki just quit. Plunges back down to the level where he showed some solid work and there aren't any A Rod Halls in this field. Touchdown As is good enough on paper to trounce these but low odds + Hudon off a charted break = bet against. Speed and fade is also one of my more favorite angles. Ideal trip to me is this one sits behind one horse and comes off helmet in stretch.

Negatives--don't love a horse that seemingly does its best work over small ovals--this one primarily races over at Flamboro and lifetime mark is over a 5/8. He's also an 8 year old so he's likely had starts over bigger tracks at this point in his career.  A Nw3700l5 trotting field is going to be full of question marks though.

Doubt we'll see morning line quote but 6/1 should be possible.

Dreamy Fella Race #7 driver change stands out big time but might be a possible fade if bet down. I think it's a too obvious driver change with a m/l of 9/2 where the off odds most be closer to 1-1 and if Roy is not 100% this one might not get the steer factored into the price. Field is awful but I will be looking elsewhere price dependent in that race.

gl to all

Whip and brown jug seem on point with HPP in 8th: close 3rd in P3 pool despite 12/1 ML, opened @1/1 with modest pool, and CA going flip flop to aluminum, which I’d guess means either horse seems to have healed  or CA is giving him more comfort for soreness.  If he doesn’t win today then I definitely agree with Whip that he would be an even more solid play at higher odds next week.

Maybe a new angle if #10 Fool Me Once wins the finale:   Brad Grant moved the horse from Moreau to Shepherd.  Slightly underperforming this year on a prorated basis, but went sub150 LY.  Grant owns most of Moreau’s Sat nite condition stock.  The horse usually lingers, but blasted from post 8 a few back.  Looks like current slight favorite in late DD pool.  I’m guessing he blasts and wires field.

You know Moreau had American Wiggle loaded on the good stuff when he puts up the fastest time of the night and goes nearly a second faster than McWicked.

Mcwicked race went to the half in 56.4

56.4 for open horses

Henry needs to get fined for that

How can you not agree that a 30 second, 2nd quarter breather shouldn't be a huge fine? However I dont recall Fillion getting one with Dancer Hall a few weeks ago in the open trot?

I'm not sure if you guys remember but Billy Davis Jr. got one for a slow second quarter a few months ago. He was on the outside gate was about 35-1 and slowed them up (it was either a maiden or nw2) horse finished up the track and got fined. but hes not a regular so no surprise

Mel Manura is good for 3/4ers of a mile.  Perhaps the horse owner, if he is as big a shot in the industry as he plays on horseplop can convince tracks to pay at every pole, kinda like the Nascar stages crap

then he shows up there

owner says "things happen" and makes excuse for Harington being a "kind half" for Mel

story on standardbred canada said someone bet 3 dollar straight ticket doesnt that qualify as multiple tickets?

thats so dumb
they bet a 3 dollar base ticket?

The single-winning ticket cost just $3, as it was a $3 straight wager 6/1/9/3/5.

The carryover entering Saturday’s card was $476,868 and had been building since June 18. A total of $96,090 was wagered on Saturday’s Jackpot Hi-5.

The Jackpot Hi-5 wager requires horseplayers to select the top-five finishers in order. The wager features a $0.20 minimum and a low takeout of 15 per cent.

The Hi-5 will now start from scratch on Monday evening’s card.
