If grooms are getting paid to do their job, why should anyone tip them? I would not tip a cashier, either. Most of the owners agree with me about this. These people who are just looking for handouts. I’m tired of it because they are getting paid better than most & they don’t work that many hours.

That groom is with your investment a whole lot of time! Not a bad idea to make them want to look out for your investment because they like and respect you.
Not like they get paid great.

I tip the tellers I like. They'll usually take care of you if you need something done quick. If I owned the horses I would tip them as well with a win. Sure, they get paid to do their job but spend the wealth around when you win. Good karma too.

You want the absolute best of care for your steed, treat the groom well. If you're going to tip the groom, hand the money to said groom as well, not the trainer!!!

Any fool could do a grooms job. It’s funny to watch a groom put the other grooms down. It’s a competition for them to see who can suck up the most to me. I feel like telling them that they are wasting their time because I am not going to tip them anyways.

I have had horses for a long time and know when a groom takes shortcuts or when they go the extra step.
If they are looking out for my investment I look out for them... You get a lot back for a decent tip now and then....
