every horse is capable of making at least a little speed during a mile. these 2 putzes can't tap into their horses' abilities at all. may as well duck tape a bowling ball to the driver's seat and let it do better.

I am the winner I suck ... just remember I’m hated not only by you people on here but in Illinois ... but my stock is and has been for 2 years either absolute winners or below average and I’m still doing good with them ... I’m trying my hardest to win .. and also if you guys only knew .. all of my money is being donated at the end of the meet call the bookkeeper ... I’m making not a fucking penny!!! Call Barb she will tell you this!!! All being donated at the end of the meet to charity .. which one we will have it the last week of the meet a “celebrity race” to see who gets it while everyone is working trying so hard for their money .. I knew Danny Knox and some of his friends (acquaintances) way before he started driving. Stan Stucker used to tell me his good race track stories and liked me because I was a kid who kept quite and listened. My ride to the track was a runner for Bob Farrington. "KEPT QUIET AND LISTENED" WHAT HAPPENED?
When an old man is spinning stories about the good old days at Washington Park and other places he has raced if you sit politely and listen he automatically likes you. Dolbee called me just "Kid" so most of the horsemen we knew did the same. Plus I never said much back then, I would do whatever anyone asked me to do and I could be trusted to do it right the first time. I didn't do drugs and I always showed up to work on time. All small things but it's why these guys didn't mind me hanging around. I got more good tips back then then the rest of my adult years combined.
My father dragged me around to bars where he would drink and gamble shooting pool and he would drag me along to the track and poker games around the south suburbs. He made the rounds to all these secret big stakes games including poker games controlled by mobsters in Chicago Heights and I was always the only kid there. But I kept quite and never bothered anybody and when they would run out of food or drinks I would make a run to the store for them. Most of the time they would forget I was even there. Granted I never should have been exposed to some of this stuff in my early teens but life was very different back then.

To clarify one point in the last paragraph my parents were split. We lived in Tennessee and I would come up here and stay the whole summer with my father. If he didn't take me with him wherever he went then I had to stay alone in his run down apartments in shitty neighborhoods. So he didn't have much of a choice. Plus when he would get drunk I had to drive him home. I started driving him home illegally at age 13 in his Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Cops never stopped us. Maybe they knew it was safer for me to be driving then him.

Well said bobby. It's easy to be a grandstand driver, but it really isn't that easy and also a lot more dangerous than it looks. My hats off to anybody who goes out in below zero weather, pouring rainstorms where you can't see two feet in front of you, drives rat fuckers you know have no shot of getting there. You are only as good as the horse you are driving. A driver can wake one up, but not usually by two or three seconds. Twenty five ain't a lot of money especially driving these things that are trying to fall down.
