Yes Hawthorne and the Carey’s have publically said they will host harness racing until the end. They are committed to trying to do what they can to make sure harness in Chicago doesn’t go away forever.

I'll remember being introduced to harness racing in the mid-80s. Going to Maywood on Mondays with guys that worked in a GM plant in Wisconsin who used to go damn near every night before OTBs. Leave after work, and sometimes go right to work after staying in the bars near Sportmans too long. Used to have fun at Maywood. Then that corrupt piece of shit state went to hell. Every one that lives there is either on the take or thinks they are in the mob. Illinois has to be the most worthless state in the union. It's too bad. Used to a great time at Maywood and Sportsman's. Now the tate has less money than I do, but everybody hat lives there acts like Tony Soprano. Especially when they live in Wisconsin all summer.

Both candidates for governor oppose racin of any kind and slots madigan the real governor hates racing and gambling how long will Hawthorne stay. Costly to change track from tbreds to harness. Plus tbreds are what the Carey's all about.

Pawpaw are you speaking of sports wagering? If so that's at best five years away. As for Hawthorne they said there will be a meet for 2018 and 2019 for harness. Beyond that who knows. They can do without the winter meet and just stick with May to Sep.

Illinois is a disaster. Democrats will have full control again and pass a progressive tax. Will fuck the tax payer over with that scam. They will legalize marijuana as there next move. He'll with all the gambling already in IL along with conceal and carry. Toughest gun laws in the US ngc3 ngc3 they should just get it over with and legalize prostitution while there at it. Back to sports gaming I think they will look at it or throw it on the ballot this year. I think they want to see NJ get something done and get a footprint. But this is a long way off and they won't know how to regulate it yet. The game is over and done... Harness Racing will be done in 5 years... Tbreds in 10. You will still have the Kentucky Derby etc, but other than that zippo interest.
I took 3 months off from gambling on horses. Was a degenerate and sucked... You couldn't pay me to bet horses ever again. Its a drug game. And you have none of this information in the program. Program is fucking useless nowdays.
Plus its so fucking boring going to the track. Their is so many other forms of gambling nowdays including online; people are wasting their time trying to revive the sport. What the fuck am I saying the horsemen have not done a damn thing for horse racing. They have used it like a welfare system and dried it up. Its over.... I could see a fantasy site like DraftKings introducing Fantasy Betting on Horse Racing which will pull in a larger handle than what the tracks are doing.

I agree. The only tracks that still excite me are Del Mar and Saratoga.
