Allegedly a horse is dead. Owner notified 3 days afterwards via text.
My question is was the horse just dead or killed from shocks of electricity.
He has allegedly done this in the past and hence it would be plausible that these acts or worse could have spelled the death of this current horse.
Racing in 2017, everyone is a fucking criminal.

There's no way Gural would have horses with any tainer that would do or instructed such cruelty to a race horse. After all, Gural is trying to clean up this industry & would be setting a bad example utilizing such a trainer. Gural would also be seen as a hypocrite for using such a trainer.

WOW, that's shocking. (1) Maybe he isn't aware of this abuse? (2) Or maybe because a sharp lawyer eventually got things cleared up, that is enough for him to turn a blind eye? (3) Or maybe he sent his lead investigator across the pond & interviewed the second trainers that testified that they were instructed to use the prod, but they all recanted their testimony?

I think Gural lets Oakie do whatever he wants to horse so he can be Burke and Takter. Even human anchor Andy Miller's horses run good when Gural owns them.

In the 60's-70's they were used a lot out West especially at Hollywood Park. They were called buzzers. They were kinda like those old joke toys you held in the palm of your hand and gave an electric shock to whomever you shook hands with. They were in the whip handle and the users were called PG&E men (Pacific Gas & Electric) It must be noted that horses have almost no impedance to electricity and can be electricuted to death with a six volt car battery. It is referred to as Jewish Lightening and was used to kill horses for insurance purposes. A double A battery will scare the shit out of a horse. Users would go out in the paddock during a thunder and lightening storm with a pair of jumper cables and zap. Too bad none ever got zapped themselves.

Cable is hooked to ground and then to horse. Death is almost instant. The lightening is used as a smoke screen and is blamed for the horses death. Then insurance checks and finds there was lightening in the area. Lots of 100K duds went that way.

Actually Fats I never saw it happen, although thanks for the clarification. During the time, we all knew it was going on because there was so many horses dying and it was being talked about almost as if it was OK. When people started getting caught and prosecuted for insurance fraud it all came to light.

The shakeup in Sweden, involving the country’s top trotting trainer, has resulted in Ake Svanstedt found guilty. In an unusual case of standardbred abuse, Svanstedt was convicted of “acts of or encouragement to commit animal cruelty.”
The case against him claimed that Ake encouraged his second trainer to perform cruel acts on trotters in their care. The original indictment offered nine counts and Ake beat all but two of them.
He was fined $2,500 and $5,000 in court fees. The second trainer was found guilty of “breaching the law” and another team-Svanstedt trainer was found guilty of making threats against a witness.
While appeals are pending, the Swedish Trotting Association (STA) has cause to present the accused with their walking papers, which would put the sport in a freefall considering the stock team-Svanstedt handled. It is possible that owners of trotters in the care of Svanstedt and company are already fleeing, which could leave the trainer’s lucrative business in ruins. The STA, sources say, will not act until all appeals have been exhausted, though authorities there pointed out “how serious they regard the charges.”
