121 ARRESTED IN MEMPHIS. A multiagency raid on an illegal gambling operation — ICE's Operation Corral Light — ended with 121 illegal aliens in custody, in one of the largest single enforcement actions Tennessee has seen this year.
DHS highlighted five of the detainees with prior arrests or convictions covering larceny, cocaine possession, aggravated assault, domestic violence and child endangerment. Behind the gambling was the usual ecosystem: cash, drugs, and people in the country illegally running all of it off the books.
The ACLU is already complaining about the raid's scope. Memphis families living next to these operations have a different word for it: finally.
