Since 1/3 of those animals stuck in NYC pulling carriages and living in equine prisons in Manhattan are Standardbreds that were tossed by Harness Racing, the ones I have meticulously documented after a Joseph Faraldo said freeze brands are obsolete. I took a trip to Central Park to meet Edita Birnkrant after a horse named "Ryder" aka Hi Ho Cheery O (R5932) collapsed in 9th Ave and I saw his brand on a newscast from the city. I know the majority of the scumbags here don't care, since they're the same people who provide the endless supply of trashed Standardbreds to the Amish. Which leads to some of them ending up in the park. But next Thursday NYC City Council will be doing what nobody ever thought would be possible. Voting on the bill leading to the end of them. And the votes are there... tmbz1
