Really American
THIS IS HUGE: Donald Trump walked on stage in deep-red Youngstown, Ohio, tonight to entire sections of empty seats.
Photos posted by a reporter at the scene show whole sections of the arena sitting empty as Trump took the stage, at a rally for Senator Jon Husted and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
Not a few scattered seats. Entire sections.
And this isn't just any stop on the map.
Both parties see the Youngstown area as key to winning Ohio's races for Senate and governor. This is exactly where Republicans need Trump to fire up their voters.
They couldn't fill the room.
It's part of a pattern. NBC News reports Trump has been speaking in smaller venues, often staring out at empty seats and watching people leave before he's done. In San Antonio last week, he didn't come close to filling an 11,000-seat arena. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has skipped both of his Texas rallies.
Even inside tonight's arena, not everyone was a fan. A protester was escorted out and flashed a middle finger on her way.
And in Ohio, Trump has already told his own crowd to go vote even if they hate Jon Husted.
Three weeks before the midterms, the man Republicans are counting on to save them can't fill the seats in the place they need him most.
The MAGA magic is fading.
