Title: The Hambletonian is now called the $1.3 Million Meadowlands Trot
Post by: captaintreacherous on October 04, 2026, 07:04:09 AM
I would rather race at the Meadowlands for $1.3 than in Hicksville, Montana in a "has been " race for $1 Mil

that didnt support the Meadowlands..

Screw the Hambletonian and Campbell....

Harness racing is clueless. Hoosier will do a good job with the Hambletonian but it still is a track with 1/3 the handle and Indianapolis is not NTC.

The next two Breeders Crown's are being held at facilities with mainly outdoor seating. Racing is great at the Red Mile but harness racing should be embarrassed by the grandstand at that facility.

At Dayton last night, the Grand Circuit races were at the end.  The last race was over at midnight. The announcers from the Ohio Harness Horsemen's Association (OHHA) kept commenting how the crowd had "dwindled".

The only way this will be fixed is to end the handouts to racing so that the sport must attract customers instead of ignoring them.
