BREAKING: HASN’T SPENT A SINGLE NIGHT AT THE WHITE HOUSE?! Trump biographer Michael Wolff poured some gasoline on his bitter feud with the First Lady with a salacious new claim about her nearly 600-day disappearing act!
Wolff and Melania Trump really, really don't like each other.
The insider journalist and First Lady have been trading accusations and legal threats for years, with their latest battle escalating after Melania threatened Wolff with a $1 BILLION defamation suit – so Wolff sued HER first.
Now Wolff has lobbed a delicious new grenade: He claims Melania may not have spent a SINGLE NIGHT at the White House since her husband returned to power nearly two years ago.
Instead, Wolff writes that Melania is “firmly ensconced” in New York City, running her own Melania-branded business, which she disclosed made $17 million in net profits last year.
Melania finally resurfaced at the White House on Thursday after an entire month out of public view, joking about her own disappearance:
“I heard you missed me. Here I am!”
But she wasn't really back. After the appearance, she vanished from public view again, with no indication when she’ll next turn up at the White House.
And then Wolff gets wonderfully slippery about what he believes we're watching:
“You pretend so little, and make such a limited effort at it, that everybody knows you’re pretending. Therefore you’re not really pretending.”
In other words, Wolff is arguing there isn't much of a charade of a marriage because nobody is even trying terribly hard to make the charade convincing.
The White House responded with considerably less nuance, calling Wolff a “professional scumbag and serial liar” suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
So, yes, consider the source.
But nearly 600 days into Trump’s presidency, Wolff has certainly come up with one hell of a specific claim:
Melania Trump may not have spent a SINGLE NIGHT at the White House.
