You might be thinking of Nihilator's Woodrow Wilson or Meadowlands Pace. As a 2yo, IIRC, Nihilator raced uncoupled in the BC (and got beat by Dragon's Lair of course). As a 3yo, he was part of a two horse entry with Chairmanoftheboar d. They finished 1-2.

Guida entered FIVE HORSES in that Breeders Crown which was a two heat race. Three of them made the final and one was used a a sacrificial lamb to park Dragon's Lair to the quarter. Jeff Mallet had trained Dragon's Lair to go two heats so he still was able to win.

Pershing Square parked Dragon's Lair to the quarter but Dragon's Lair still won. There was a bridge jumper in that race who almost had a huge loss!
