Title: Racetracks should get preferential treatment VS Casinos
Post by: captaintreacherous on July 28, 2026, 06:31:00 PM
The racetracks such as Yonkers,Meadowlands,Belmont,
Pocono, Monticello, Buffalo, Batavia,Vernon, and the Canada
tracks have been charged trillions over the decades by
the Federal, State and City Governments.

Those funds helped build schools, hospitals,Fire Departments,
funded the Police and other infrastructure.

The casinos on the other hand have come in over the last
decade or so..

Why shouldnt they contribute to the well being of the tracks?

The tracks were the only gambling game in town until the
casinos came along (Las Vegas excluded).

There shouldnot be any decoupling allowed.

IF you are a Casino owner you must have a track
and a certain % of revenue should go toward the purses.

The casinos are are a johnny come lately.

The tracks offer a foundation to acrigculture across
the US and have provided hundreds of thousands of jobs
over the last 75 -125 years.

The reality is that casinos, for the most part, bailed out racing without having to.  Ohio first passed casino expansion and then later, through executive action, require some casino revenue to assist in the dying industry.  Indiana, already had casinos (riverboats) long before tracks got help.  PA and NY are not that dissimilar.  If anyone believes a dying horse racing industry was going to be able to keep gambling expansion out for a significant number of years, they are living in beyond a fantasy land.  Horse racing exists today because of a large assist from Casinos.  That will not last forever, and the horse racing industries have done nothing during this lifeline period to significantly adapt for a future without support.  It's like getting X years of alimony to "start over" and doing nothing only to end up on the street after the payment period ends.

The ONLY reason harness racing exists, is because of the casinos. Every whoresmen should be on their knees, thanking the casino patrons. Instead, you have moronic fuckheads, who think they are entitled to be welfare receiving, horse doping, race fixing scum. Does anybody really wonder why the perception of the harness whoresmen is at an all time low, and why people want to see it gone?

    Sincerely, Silent One

The main component is the "Rake" or "Juice"

20-25% per race is absurd at this point.

With sports  9%

the tracks must knock the take to 9% or better 8%

a million mile journey..starts with the first step
