Congrats to all the connections of KJ Title on his track record 155.1 in today's 5th at Monti. I met trainer Gary Messenger and his wife Brenda a very long time ago. Glad to see they are 'still in the game" producing winners.

age/sex/gait wouldn't hurt

Howard Oil is such a fucking embarrassment. An EXTREMELY RARE 1:55.1 trotting win at Monticello and he announced the race like he was on quaaludes.
-
He's not as bad as John Horne at Vernon but bad nonetheless. Half the time he can't remember the horse's name and calls the driver's first name instead.

I agree. I've been listening to that monotone way Howard Oil has called races and i'm just used to it. LOL!

The point is very few trotters at Monticello get to the 3/4's in 1:25 and a piece and this clown is half a sleep

For the most part, track announcers seem to have lifetime jobs unless they quit or retire no matter how bad they get.

I think you are right. My personal favorite was Jack E. Lee when he called the races at Roosevelt Raceway in the early 80's.

And Max Brewer's listime was tragically cut short.

My favorite was Phil Georgeff in Chicago.

I loved to listen to John Boothe at the Big M years ago. Zooming By!
-
congrats to Gary. Great guy and excellent horseman. Came up under Clint Galbrith as did Ed Hart another excellent horseman and person!
-
Listen to the race call from 1978 at Sportsman's Park with Gil Levine...the horse's name...Union Special

He is a great guy. He's trained some good ones over the years.

I was at Sportsman's that night. Wooo. Wooo.

Gil had a couple others that stood out as well. Old Time Religion, and my personal favorite, Clancy N.
