Maine steak season is starting. Steak purses look much higher, $15,000 plus for 5 horse field. Half of these are pets, not able to race a mile in 2 minutes. Looks like easy money for owners and trainers with decent stock. I am surprised there are not more steak eligible horses.

Don't forget the Heinz 57 tmbz1
-
I prefer A1 over Heinz 57
-
i always thought they were known for the seafood , not steaks !
-
The seafood is great, but the purse money for the steaks is more greater!
-
Maine will have two Sire Stakes races this Saturday. Two five horse fields. Trainer Marc Tardif always seems to be loaded for Maine's Sire Stakes season.
-
Isn't steak something you eat? I believe you mean Maine Stakes? Moron.
-
There has been three mentions of steak sauce and food already and you chime in like it's a scoop and HE'S the moron? 11.wp

GOAT, I was hoping they were just joking.....
-
Are the steaks from the dead horse in the bangor winners circle yesterday?
-
Hey Bitter truth. Why don't you puff on my white owl?

He can't help it. People who fuck with harness horses are some of the dumbest cunts on this earth as he illustrated quite well in his post.

They eat horse steaks in Canada. Here we just have steaks races. The purses for Maine steaks are crazy high for the level of competition.
-
Two Fold Cold is a Maine breed and won the open yesterday at Plainridge. There also several others racing there that hold their own.
-
Is there any penalty for eating a STEAK out of season!???
-
I might need someone to 'stake me' 73cv.2 so I can get by. ;D
-
should be the tardif steaks.
-
2 steaks on the card Wednesday at Bangor, 6 entries one race, 7 in the other. Fields look a little stronger.
-
Money's so good in Maine Stakes that M&L Stable of Delaware had a colt qualify yesterday at Bangor. I'm surprised Burke isn't getting in on it.
-
Give Burke some time. He loves taking advantage of easy money. I think he ships some better horses every year to Maine to race at Plainridge's upper classes. Money is real good there. He has had horses in the Mass Sire Stakes for years.
-
Bruke had horse's racing at the Fairs in Maine the past couple of Sumners and always get in cheap.
-
Joe Nelson trains the ones in Maine for the summer. And gets most of his in cheep at the fairs.
-
Obrigado was a Maine bred. Earned $1.9 M.
-
Maine Steaks are tough to chew. I like mid west beef the best!
-
Weak crop of colts that raced there Wednesday!
