Title: Fragment, after today, I dunno
Post by: Sweet on June 03, 2026, 06:10:09 PM
Busy, just caught the replay of Buffalo's 6th.  Horse ran 3-4 secs slower on the fast, lost at 1/5.  Didn't look awful, but his competition was ehhh.

Not JB's fault seemingly.

Not in the caliber of the top 3 yo's atm, huge disappointment.

Thx for the heads up Sweet. Watched it. He sure looks kinda spindly to me. I'll pass.
In his defense, horses don't exactly float around that track. 1/5 and the announcer calls it a minor upset. ngc3

151 4/5 in the slop win for fun at Saratoga, at 2 at Batavia ran a 152 1/5 for fun too.

Then this on a fast track.

Throws in a clunker here and there, is Buffalo that slow - I believe you, I know, we'll see his next race.

153 and change today, yikes.  Then how good is Casper The Ghost who won the 1st in 154 in change for fun?

They don't always fill out and /or come back strong at 3. Destined to be trying to duck the big boys and make some $$

Add Knoxville his foe that vanquished him today too  ngc3, trained by the same Casper The Ghost Trainer, Ray S.  ngc3

Shitkicker has the track pegged apparently, $13.18, and $19.32...keeping an eye on him....special shoes!  ;D

Don't discount Fragment. This was a rough journey -- steering problems -- fighting the TWO inside headpoles -- three wide around the last turn and got beat by a horse in the passing lane. Those two headpoles broke free in his win last week in the slop -- maybe he doesn't need them -- he was sure fighting them the entire mile.

I was there today. 78 degrees and perfect weather.  The people in Buffalo said it was the best day of the year!   tmbz1

They missed the 3-year old track record by 1/5 of a second with a very fast first half mile 55 and change.

I had a vested interest in the race so I can’t give unbiased observations on the race.

Look at the lines of the other two (1st and 2nd), and his, he's improving off now his 7th race.

A great one there!  He visits his babies they love him! 🙏
