Great great memories. First yearling sale early 70's I went to there was held in the indoor jogging track.
It was small run down, the roof in places was coming down, and I think only the flats used it. Soon after it was torn down.
No lights on the mile track.
We raced harness on a half mile track.
Then they made it a 5/8s.
On Sundays afternoons we would race on the mile track till it started to get dark then switch to the 5/8s.
Then they finally put lights on the mile track.

Before it was known as Balmoral it was called Lincoln Fields way back in the 1930's. TBred track originally, stared harness on a half mile oval in 1968. A distant relative of mine use to run a tack shop on the backside. Fond memories. I had my biggest wagering night at Balmoral when I hit a $ 600 daily double.
