Gerry Glantz was also very good.

There has never been a better announcer than Scott Ehrlich up at Cumberland - just ask him
Stratton told me the guy smells like a rotten salami sandwich.
-
I liked "Bullet" Bob Meyer. But my favorite was Jack E Lee as Roosevelt Raceway.
-
Agree on Jack E. Lee. There used to be a bettor who would stand near the track and would yell up to Jack all of the time; when his horses lost he ATE the tickets after he was done yelling at Jack.

LOL! That's funny!

They are head to head, nose to to nose, for the lead.
Round the clubhouse turn the final time.
They round the far turn and it's ------ the strong horse, down the center of the track, to get the lead.

That Lederman call linked above freehold was excellent. In looking at his obituary he was preceded in death by his wife and daughter ..she was 31 I think. How terrible that is..bad enough agreat race race caller getting inoperable brain cancer and passing at 68..but his wife n daughter preceded his death makes it upsetting.
-
He lived alot of years with the inoperable brain tumor only to bury both his wife and daughter, so sad!

Such a nice guy too...always seemed positive and was funny.

Phil Georgeff in Chicago was the best ever. Worst ever: Rodger Huston by far.
