Title: whatever happened to the 'green monkey'

was suppose to one of the best ever. if i remember right never broke his maiden. did he ever produce any good or great ones ?

that was way back in my lazy crazy hazy dayz of summer when my mind wasnt functioning well  ngc3

but with a name the green monkey i could never forget, dont remember the trainer either but was supposed to be greatness

funny how things pop into a persons head for no reason

He had the #1 trainer at the time, Todd Pletcher.

Named after a golf course I think in Barbados owned by one of his. 

$16mil was a bidding war with the English group and the arabs.

Supposedly he ran a furlong close to a quarter horse and they loved the breeding.

never oc knew before how the name came about

TGM was by Forestry, a son of Storm Cat.  Undridled mare.

We're going to start seeing Flightline's first 2 year olds soon. The big seller at OBS in March was hip 1056- since named Zedan -  sold for $10.5 Million. With Baffert now.

The seller of Zedan was Hartley DeRenzo of Ocala, They bought him as a wealing in 2024 for $500,000.

Hartley DeRenzo was also the seller of  The Green Monkey for $16Million. They bought TGM for $400k as a yearling.
