This horse is 2 / 2 and heading for the Kentucky Derby.
30 minutes ago I watched this horse go 1 1/8 miles, around 2 turns at Nakayama Racecourse set the stakes record 150.9 and do it being never used, eased up to the wire carrying 126 lbs.
Gets 40 KYD points, leads all the Japanese horses and is an AUTOMATIC JAPANESE entry into the derby if he accepts no matter what the US point standing is.
Just has to make the trip.
Check out his maiden score against 16 horses. Destroyed that field in a workout type ride (pick up at 3m 28s).

Very impressive performance! tmbz1

it was impressive indeed--he gets the invite-points mean nothing
same as todays UAE Derby winner--points mean nothing--Wonder Dean was the winner-- bred in Japan
I like Paladin next week in The Bluegrass-- Nearly in todays Florida Derby-and Renegade in the Arkansas Derby
good luck to everyone

The points mean something.
There were several races in Japan for example and whom ever had the most points of those.
Also, if DB decides to not come they'll offer into down the line to the next highest points. DB has 40, I believe Lucky Kid has 20
The Japanese and Middle East / European get an automatic with their top individual points earners, they choose not to take their starters then the 20 US runners highest points and I believe money in those points races is the tie breaker.
You'll hear them say top 18, not "20".

But it was incorrectly written here on the KYD website:
"Each year 20 horses have the once in a lifetime chance to run in the Kentucky Derby. To earn a spot in the starting gate, they must travel along the Road to the Kentucky Derby, a series of designated races at tracks across the country and around the world. Points are awarded to the top five finishers in each race. The 20 horses with the most points will earn a spot in the starting gate on the first Saturday in May."

conflicting reports for sure
today on the live feed from Dubai they said the winner of the UAE Derby gets an automatic invite and the points are irrelevant
i see what you mean for the "Japan points"--they don't have an automatic invite-they use a point system
so yes I was mistaken--the points mean something
totally unsure about the UAE Derby
thank you for the correction
