Title: Miami Oh. in or not?
Post by: Oliver Clozoff on March 13, 2026, 10:54:56 AM
I say absolutely not.  Should an undefeated 3 year old who hasnt beaten anything of note get invited to the Derby? Of course not.

He's talking about next week's March Madness Basketball Tournament....... .......

Miami (OH) RedHawks, they finished their season 30-0, but lost in the 1st round of their Mid-American Tourney yesterday.

I guess my answer to his question would be Yes, because his analogy doest quite fly...... There will be plenty of worse teams than Miami OH in the tourney and others that haven't beat anybody will also get in?

So, who's the undefeated 3-year-old he mentioned? Don't think it's got to do with March Madness Tournament.

There ain't that's was SAW was referring to the "analogy" to racing when he translated OC's post for us....All College NCAA B-ball.

He was comparing Miami OH to the 3 year old, because they went undefeated in the regular season, but havent faced any Good/Top ranked teams.

Yes my friends I was making analogy between Miami Oh which went undefeated in the regular season but did not beat a team in the top 100 and still got invited to the ncaa to a theoretical 3 year old who might be 6 for 6 but never ran in graded stakes getting an invite to the derby. Because a team like Auburn who all be it lost 16 games was the first team out.  If they matched Miami va Auburn, Auburn would be a 7 point favorite probably.  Just curious. Good luck with the brackets, lot of free million dollar contests out there.

Perhaps the Tournament committee is search for a new"Gonzaga" type to attract the underdog fans, or perhaps someone on the committee got an envelope full of cash for exposure for the school! 73cv.2
