Title: Sippinonsearoc as a stud what do you think?
Post by: Blackfin32 on December 26, 2025, 10:42:25 PM
I saw him run several times early in his career and he was fast!

Being a Burke fan or not, or lover or hater or not, this horse setting a world record at 2 of 148 2/5, had a Northfield Park time for a 2nd place finish of 151 2/5 to winner Louprint.  That's a heavy load at 2 and come back at 3 and win the Breeders Cup final in 147 3/5.

$7500, why not.

Here's his siring advert:

That’s pretty impressive. Sbred winning a Tbred major at 3. Surprised his stud fee isn’t 75,000

I was incorrect saying cup and you know I was talking about standardbreds and harness racing.

Cup / Crown, dude is this your big moment?

Fucking coward to boot that talks a big game and runs away when it comes to backing your bullshit i.e. see Sylvia Hanover.

You're a tiny dick impotent dummy in this forum.

Good luck with the breeding.  I am also breeding her to a captain treacherous mare but I think the syndicate package for $25,000 is a great deal so I'm doing that.......

I looked at the videos of Queen Ann M and he has some of her gameness.  Of course downbytheseaside needs no explanation.
Good luck!

I don’t like.  Page not very strong.  3 other siblings terrible.  Second dam had 1 decent horse out of 7 which is Searoc.  Third dam had Cam Swifty and Lonesome Dove obviously nice mares.  Just not for me.

True as true can be.

More understood here than the t-bred world i.e. the price point for the unproven.

They've got money to bet and burn and seem to not mind doing it  ngc3

His advertisement states a quote from Burke saying he's the fastest horse he ever sat behind. If true, impressive. But I feel this gets thrown around pretty loosely.

What's your fascination with my fascinations (and Mike's fascinations) seemingly your only fascinations?

What good are people anyway without any junk i.e. see Kirby's Ace.

Some people are smart and unique, clever and funny i.e. don't see Kirby's Ace.

Back to the thread topic....

Have any of you seen the effects of what 2 (even 1) drug addict parent produce in a child and you don't necessarily need to be high during pregnancy?

Do you take that into consideration?

Check with genetic science for human and equine...the genetic effects are not good, let's hope these druggy trainers, that ultimately breed druggy horses do not start producing mutants.

The top cheating trainer makes it hard to predict. His ability was most likely chemically enhanced. Many think Sweet Lou is a great sire. He is for one trainer and that is Burke. No one else has had a Sweet Lou hit the board the past two Breeders Crowns.

obviously confederate, its my show are the top ones nit trained by burke
many of the  good ones burke has are from mediocre mares at best
he has been bred to better mares the last few years so interesting to see how they perform, especially those not going to be trained by burke

I am no fan of Burke's at all, and your statement is well-taken, but there are some pretty decent ones elsewhere. Sweet Lou is most certainly a good sire. However, his stud fee is absolutely ridiculous (to your point, largely due to Burke's success with them) and as a result, I don't imagine the smaller farms are able to breed to him on any large scale. So that leaves the bigger farms, and Burke's breeding their mares to them.

You can say that about most sires. Burke made a Stay Hungry pace fast he’s just on a different level than everyone else.

Confederate was Pelling. Another reputable trainer.

The high Sweet Lou stud fee is ridiculous. Your chances of getting a great one aren't good.

Plop management is very smart.

The Ignore feature is available.

Those that no longer want to be part of the conversation with another.

Typically the weak, sensitive, easily fractured, can give but can't take - we call them universally - A BITCH

Let’s see how this pans out over the first couple years.  IMO horse could be a successful stud but also. Our be a dud.  Pretty soon Burke will control breeding operations in every state like he does racing

Thanks for the vote of confidence Yonkers.  When it comes to studs I'm a self proclaimed expert, I really do my research.
I think Seacock....I mean Searoc will be ok. He'll get some support and that Beach line should come through.   It's a tough market though, a lot of things have to go right and it's a pretty small window to prove yourself.   Although you can't blame people. When you use a new and unproven stallion and don't get the desired results, sometimes its hard to go back, especially when there are some tried and true studs out there and you know exactly what you are getting.   You can waste a lot of money on seaman.
