In West Virgina, 35% of the population is either on Medicaid or get ACA subsidies.
A group of West Virginians were asked 2 Questions:
1. Are you in favor of keeping the current ACA Subsidies?
-Result ... YES 75%. NO 25%.
2. Are you in favor of keeping the current ObamaCare subsidies?
-Result ... YES 20%. NO 80%.
I still love West Virginia... Charles Town, Mountaineer, and the last two Dog tracks left in North America.

Over 50 years ago on a snowy night in March I made the trek from Pittsburgh over to Wheeling Downs when they still had harness racing. Roger Hammer's horse, Call the Butler won the featured race that night with a $2000 purse.

I had a great king cut of prime rib in the CT dining room 23 years ago. I brought my lesbian partner on this overnight biz trip. Ordered in a bi hooker too for us, and I must say, wasn't trash. Drug security at Dulles was dim as she brought some good dope in. Nice flight, you go up you go down from LGA.
Calhoun, we still have that 20% to work with, and considering the 5% black included in are genetically smarter than the inbred whites, we still have that 15% or 75% of the 20% that are possibly salvageable.
Or not! ngc3

I am 100% in favor of keeping the ACA subsidies. I think of all the issues, this will doom the GOP at the mid-terms. It is unthinkable that the GOP would allow the subsidies to lapse without a better alternative for the program.

Questions of the day:
How many years have the Republicans had a chance to do this?
One of their 'own people' shot their chances down (the late John McCain)!
Are there any "SMART" Republicans who can make a "BETTER" alternative?

Funny how the party that wants to raise taxes on the rich have no problem giving billions of dollars to corporations that will do anything to not pay a claim

There was a time when I went to GP (or Calder) about 3x a week for several years. I remember when the new GP opened Christine Lee's was a tough ticket. I went there once and they had ropes and shit. It was garbage. I became a grandstand rat, mostly by whatever they called the spot above the 16th pole and the walking ring. Any day other than the biggest stakes days I could get a seat for a couple dollars to a nice older gal whose name I forgot.

Calder was not a hard track to hit just an unpleasant place to dine. Pre-ADW I'd place bets and go home. Paco Lopez busted his cherry there then and was suspended like every other day ngc3 Fucking rusted out shithole...Gulfst ream Park West, remember that handle bumping scam ngc3
GP, my spot, the Ten Palms and while I don't for the life of me either remember the maitre d's name, I palmed her cash got the seat just before the finish line and a kiss on the cheek...every time I took a broad there I'd be like hey go eat and relax, I'm doing the scratches, placing the bets, and checking the tics and she's annoying the shit out of me sticking blocks of cheese in my mouth. ngc3

Not that I am immersed in W. VA, but on the surface, I'm surprised. Maybe I figured the defending of status quo would prevail.
