GL Papi, busy here I'll chime in on the later races.
What happened with Whip's pick last nigh, Hes Swift?
I made money with that horse, was a good one once upon a time, one of Drury's winning ones and sad to see a 150 horse in 8k claimers / $7k purse but it made sense and he pulled up dnf....maybe BigSexy can clue us in as the vet comment said long term.

GREAT PROFESSIONAL MOVE AT MOHAWK TONIGHT. FIRST TIME TROTTING HOPPLES IN THE 2.. as the gate is tolling they announce it. Very professional on their part. Fuck em. I used to love this track. I can’t explain their ignorance. That move was straight up bull shit.

the horse trotted a big effort first over to finish 2nd

Hey guys, the horse is totally fine. Not lame at all. We actually just sold him back to Polifroni today. Hes been on the left line pretty badly for me and I tried adding a second headpole outside and he hated it. The faster he tried to go the more he fought it to the point where Billy was pulling the left line so hard that he just pulled himself up. The track vet here hates me and as soon as any little thing goes wrong lately, she puts them on the vets list or even long term vets list. Sure makes it tough for the owners, which is why this owner had to send Momas Son Byrne and Overthinking down to race at the meadowlands recently.
-
How did those two make out?

Have the vets at the BigM write out a report so you can have a side by side to the horses she's disallowing.
Multiple reports accumulated.
Is this Emma, she looks like a kid if it's that one.
Regardless I'd compare their credentials of the 2 vets from the opposing reports.
Before any fireworks, a total reset and sit down in an office with coffee and some pastries and figure out what's up. Put on the BigSexy charm...every major battle historically ends where the two become allies.
If not go over her head with an attorney and your owners and the reports they're fucking your business up, and either it stops or what you have to brace yourself for more retaliation?
You're a honest working family man there for quite sometime while guys like (friends or not) Moreau and others stole from you and yours and others by cheating and getting rewarded with money and accolades and more owners and more money - right under their eyes. A big stable too, lot's to shoulder.
But you can't wade out this kind of man-made storm with silence.
GL buddy and we're here if you need us, there! ;D

They both jogged and looked good. Neither of them have anything wrong with them, but I would never say they are the best gaited horses.

Thanks pal. It’s frustrating for sure. I don’t want to create more problems for myself and give her more reason to scratch my horses or put them on the list, so I’ve stayed quiet for the most part other than a couple confrontations with her. I know she has a tough job to do and I respect that, but many many people have seen it, the amount of horses of mine that get scratched or put on the list is hard to believe, when we all watch much lamer horses race every week that don’t get scratched or put on the list.

We all get that, at one time or another to be A+ and get a wrongful "F", as adults.
Quite frankly, sounds like you're being targeted, and she might be the proverbial bullet and not the one pulling the trigger.
Maybe it's impossible to be success driven in a game like this and be honest too.
Whichever elected leadership that represents you where you live, work there too be in touch with them for a sit down.
Elected officials may not be the lower administrative answer but they are at the top, they typically can fire and hire / appoint the one(s) who run that AGCO like the Ministry Attorney General.
You're an important somebody and the people that work for you, your owners and your family can't have anyone ruining your life and business undeserving. Get your politician, and an attorney and have a quiet conversation and put this to bed already.
You have nothing reasonable and credible to fear.
Then you'll be invisible, you will not be fucked with.

years and years ago in my 1st year of high School...i brought home a report card..my Dad looked at and said...you received B,s on most of your subjects but a D in Math why?....i said.. the teacher doesnt like me...my dad didnt buy it lol

His complaint was the punishments weren't coming down uniformly, that other trainers at Mohawk who had horses that were conspicuously lame, much worst shape than his were allowed to race, and the standard he was being held too there wasn't happening at the BigM.
No horses unwell, or questionable should be put at risk. We domesticated them, we need to look out for them.

Trigger, i think you view things with eyes wide open..but taking Auciello at his word, without him providing evidence is well,,hhmmm...problematic............all we have here is whataboutism
-
More than one person I know up there says Carmen is a nice guy but his training methods leave a lot to be desired. In fairness just about every horse Per touches improves leaps and bounds. I suspect it's a little both, an over zealous Vet and a trainer that sends suspect horses to race when maybe they should have a little time off.

You want evidence / I want that evidence taken to the powers that be.
I like our diverse interrogation techniques.
I don't think there's a good cop in the room.

Last night had nothing to do with me lol. Hennessy was filling in as vet. Flight Crew didn’t race great but wasn’t horrible for the conditions. The claimant noticed a trickle of blood in one nostril, likely just a broken blood vessel or something, and low key started freaking out, calling for the commission vet and the judges to reverse the claim, he should get his money back blah blah blah. The horse drank two buckets of water and wasn’t in any distress at all. The claim cannot be reversed. We have new rules coming into place next year that might have reversed the claim in this case, but that’s not til February of 2026. As of right now, a horse could drop dead in the race and it is yours. I’m somewhat a fan of the new rules coming in, but as of right now, the claimant has to take this horse home. He kept causing a stink and earned himself a long term vets list for bleeding and has to qualify. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. I guess Hennessy did scope her afterwards and she showed a bunch of mucous with a tiny bit of blood. Consistent with being a bit sick, which is how she raced.

In all fairness, Per improves off just about everyone. Quite often I claim horses and improve off others also, and they don’t necessarily improve once I lose them. I’m no different than anybody else. Some horses succeed on my program and some don’t. But if you watch enough races up here, I rarely have horses going out that are crippled and with big head nods. But if one races poorly and gets beat 15 lengths, mine are constantly getting put on the list for no reason. She’ll find something “oh he’s lame
Left hind” on a horse that has never been lame in its life and even after the driver tells her he isn’t lame, just raced like shit. Then in that case, they get put on for being sick, without showing any signs of being sick. Is it right for a vet to just speculate that a horse is sick just because it got beat 15 lengths? They don’t scope it or pull blood or even look at it for more than 20 seconds. Couldn’t there be other reasons? Could the horse have shut its air off, or maybe got driven like an idiot and got tired? Obviously like anybody else, I have the odd one that hurts itself in a race. It happens, and obviously those are justified. But I’ve had wayyyy more horses scratched and/or put on the list than any other trainer up here in the last 10 years, and it’s not because I am trying to race lame horses that shouldn’t be racing.

Appreciation & gratitude for your very detailed, chronological and forensic explanation. Tough game, having unnecessary obstacles is beyond frustrating. If they are discriminatory, sounds like it, it's just not sustainable. I'm learning a lot - we all are - thanks buddy!

Big Sexy,
Thanks for your updates. Keep up the good work and best wishes for a great 2026.

Gimme a break ... you put lamers on the track again and again and no one is supposed to notice or care?
And this ludicrous idea that taking up the hobbles is somehow a health cure is a bad bad joke.
Oh I'm sorry, the horses aren't lame, they're just bad gaited. I forgot.

How sound do you expect 9 yo cheap claimers to be?

tmbz1 See Calhoun' answer - makes sense, and confer with vets, I'm just a gambler that's appreciative a trainer actually comes on here not under the veil of anonymity and y'all want to chase him away ngc3
-
Thanks fellas! Oh except for Razor Ramone there. He must have lost too much on all of my lame horses. Sounds like he has it all figured out!
-
You have raced Mister Magic 45 times this year and he's 10 and crippled with a big heart.
You have raced Jack Panic 46 times this year.
You have raced Allsmokeandmirror s 43 times this year.
You are a hack, plain and simple and you deserve all the attention you have received as you can't be trusted to put the horses welfare before you cheque book.

What do you think the reasonable AVERAGE # of races a year per for a standardbred should be?
Pacer? Trotter?
What is the answer from track vets?
For sure a lot less racing, too hard to put cards together, but I'm not defending that or opposed to it, I don't know the answer.
-
Ok so the amount of time a horse races has something to do with what tell me? You’re literally commending me for being able to keep my horses sound and race them a lot, but at the same time trying to tell me all I do it’s race lame horses. (Sorry just realized it’s a different guy, not Ramone. Guess I’ve got a few haters) How many times did I lose Mister Magic and get him back for cheap? How about Buck Dancer? And how come nobody is claiming them now if I’m such a hack? Step up and claim one of them, give them a little break and race them 20 times a year and see how you do!
-
You're a moron and one owner away from being irrelevant.
-
You could be right about that!

He's got more horses in more races in tonight's card than any of the other 78 trainers listed today ngc3
You got balls for being that factually foolish and making a prediction that strains probability to near ZERO ngc3
-
good luck with Hf Pans Shadow tonight in race 5
I like him tonight
-
Thanks fellas. He’s just sour grapes for losing so much money on my horses over the years. I’m pretty sure I know who he is and I’m certainly not gonna lose any sleep over his bullshit
-
He's got more horses in more races in tonight's card than any of the other 78 trainers listed today
But unlike the other trainers, he won't be present.
-
Oh there he is again. Logged out of one account and into the other ngc3
-
But unlike the other trainers, he won't be present.
He owe you money ngc3, you want an autograph ngc3 maybe a kiss on the lips ngc3
Go make a peanut butter and jealous sandwich and stfu, you're embarrassing yourself. ngc3
-
But unlike the other trainers, he won't be present.
Because I forgot, they race so much better when the trainer is there to cheer them on, right?

Horse liked you too, WINNER ngc3
