Title: The possible effect of the three proposed NYC casinos.
Post by: dougie on December 03, 2025, 09:19:02 PM
I've been reading a lot of reactions from fans and local papers in Sullivan County (NY)  about how the new NYC casinos will impact their "bottom line". Local business folks and politicians believe that Resorts World Catskills could lose up to 76% of their "action" once the casinos in NYC open. I've been there many times and will tell you almost 50% of the gamblers are Asians who are bussed up to the upsate venue each day. Most believe that the "action" will be reduced big time once casinos are right in their backyard. We already know the issue for Yonkers who will take a big hit too! One interesting aspect of the newly approved casinos is how it will effect Foxwoods in Connecticut. They draw big time from NYC and Westchester. My buddy who works in Security there says many of the bosses believe they will take a 25%-30% hit. As the battle for those casino bucks gets hot, I wonder how the pie will be cut with so many casinos in  the northeast.
