Worst driver in USA in my lifetime, Michael Forte.
In Canada, maybe not the worst, but on the big circuit, a huge disappointment considering the talent he drives, Jonathon Drury.
The whole Amateur Driving circus in parimutuel races.

I had a horse with Mike years ago, big Mets fan, he’s a great guy.

Good to know, and glad to hear.
Decent trainer too.
Who was driving the horse?
-
Undercover agent for the FEDs.........laug h if you want
-
Steve Smith. Been a bad driver for a long time
-
Chris Cristoforou
yes--he is a "Hall of famer"
but the last decade or so--he covers up and protects his drives--but almost never aggressively drives or really tries to win
he sits on the cones for 7/8ths of mile with a 3/5 shot--then shows some late foot to get 3rd or 4th--and his best friend(Randy Waples) tells everyone what a great drive he turned in, how smart he was for sitting in the whole mile
sad part is--is many believe that nonsense
does he ever blast the gate and show early speed on anything?--the answer is a resounding NO
when you are 3/5 favorite or less--you are not supposed to sit buried for most of the mile and come home with late pace/trot..well after the race has been decided
HOF driver?--he was 20-25 years ago...but now he protects all of his drives for the next week--only problem is...next week never comes and he buries them on the cones the next week, and the next week, and the next week
why does he protects them?-he never turns in an aggressive drive-he just buries them until its too late on just about every drive
the only way he wins....is when there is a vicious pace duel or boilover..and then he picks them up late
overall, a horrible guy to bet on
as bad as Drury is--is least sometimes he tries to win despite how terrible he is
CC could care less about winning
-
Andy Miller. Just bad
-
His last aggressive drive was when he won the Little Brown Jug in 2000 with Astreos.
-
I agree CC is horrible. He is set for life from inherited money and more to come when the old man passes. But the will say anyone that has bet CC at less than 15/1 last 15 years deserves what they get. I love seeing him on a big favorite easy auto toss
-
Ok but let's give Mr. I treat every race like a qua CC the benefit of the doubt, he is a left hand whipper ngc3 unfortunately he shows little to no urging on those head on shots either on live horses ngc3
Seriously wtf, oh it's MST ;D

Add Mike Micallef to the list

Too bad you were betting him this week ngc3
When a real plopper plays that game on a driver on a cooler, they pay triple digits ngc3

Ceba horsey
-
Andy Miller has turned into a jumping up and down clown.
-
Pat Lachance definitely not a chip off the old block
-
Stacy Chiodo , specializes in making horses go slow
-
Juan Franco Zero talent
-
Anyone with the last name Finn
-
Johnathan Ahle. He has talent BUT drives everything like it’s a Noel Daley super horse. Can he read a program?
-

For all the more she drives i always thought she did well considering shes at a premier track driving against better stock and high end trainers and drivers. A lot safer than most drivers out there. Don’t know if she still has record for fastest win ever by female driver.

Off the top of my head, I would guess it would be Lauren Tritton. She won at the Meadowlands in 49 and a piece. Maybe 49 and 2 or 3.

Actually, a very good thread. The reality is no one outside the sport knows of its existence. As a result, we get the kids of kids of kids of former horsemen. The depth of the human talent pool is rather shallow, and there is no one standing in line to take the place of someone that isn't cutting it. Instead, they stay in the game and add no value.
And the irony is, many of the people listed are sub-par good drivers. There are hundreds of others that simply aren't at all good, and could be replaced by millions of other individuals.

Yes, athleticism and skill and strategy and competition.
In arenas that are closing down. ngc3
Supported by welfare forced on a another predator, generally in the US, Casinos and or the government in Canada.
Where the best of the best who are future HOF's and HOF's ngc3 of what Animal Abuse and Cheating and Drugs and... ngc3
Top notch oversight & regulatory tmbz1 ngc3
Sure, it's a WIDELY CONSIDER a sport, not a fucking joke on it's way out? ngc3
Might as well add Pimping, Bookmaker Collectors, Drug Slingers to that sport category too - they're just as reputable without the phony cover and have much better regulatory. ;D

Ask your mama, we chatted, and she gave me your family's Strawberry Shortcake recipe for Thanksgiving.
All the guys in your family jerk off and cum on your sister's face and your grandmother hits her in the nose with a frying pan.

Chiodo first female driver under 1:50 way back in 2014. Mighty Joe Young 1:49.3

Kyle husted
Was on his way to becoming something special
Has declined in recent yrs
-
Greg Grismore. He always was bad. But now he is pathetic. 150 pounds overweight. Wins maybe 1 race a month. And watching him struggle and get in everyone’s way during a race is comical.
-
Grismore might be pathetic now but wasn't always bad as you say, otherwise how would he have over 8000 wins in his career and 82 so far this year at Northfield?

I've had success betting a Forte trained horse when driven by a catch driver.

Most UNDERTATED driver in the industry, uses his brain, maybe that’s why you don’t like him, he is patient and doesn’t send them when they are empty, doesn’t beat them, still one of the best will always drive mine 👏

Because that guy saying that is a Degenerate gambler that’s made he list his $2.00 bet 😂😂😂, Degenerates! 😂

Two comments here. I met Stacy Chiodo in the Yonkers paddock years ago on one of my rare visits to race a horse. She was friendly and surprisingly frank, as she mentioned a very top driver, saying he, more often than not, drove her horses in a very, shall we say, disinterested manner. I wasn’t shocked at the comment, but rather that she said it to me.
Second, go to RedShores racing website, select Racing, and look at the driver profiles and pix. To say some of them are portly, is an understatement.

I believe he failed driving Burke's stock at Yonkers years ago. I believe he is getting another chance with Burke's stock at Northfield now!
