JOHN FRANK ARMY did. Fuckin HORRENDOUS!
(1) SURE i can use VA. But I also at times use PRIVATE for out of VA. And sine me in VA,I look at MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS. Those in me ZIP with a ZERO monthly payment. I used to have a supplimental but those have balloned at me age to approximatly $280.00 a month and their coverage ain't anywhere as near as they used to be. But now,ADVANTAGE has cut back on what they offer. And basically they ofer nuttin without major paybacks and it more like CALAMITY INSURANCE.
(2) So,I'M lookin at all carriers and their coverage. Most interested in DENTAL CARE. Got screwed last year and because I noot look: Took me DENTIST from IN-NETWORK to OUT. Had work done and the WORK cost me 50%. The girls there realized their mistake also and just bill me every month for $100.00 instead of turning me over to collecter. I'm down to $575.00. Tooo be continued.....

So,I get you little SHITS are young and have no HEALTH CARE. Thinkin nuttin gonna make me SICK and you not work for any company that offers it. YOU BUMS.
But for OLDER it is VERY IMPORTANT.
And your LOVER,likes watchin OLDER SUFFER. FUC THEM the SILVER SPOON SPEWS. Weed them out. While the DRAFT DODGIN COWARD,when he came down with CO-VID,like the little coward SKIRT he be RAN to HOWARD REED. SO BRAVE the SKIRT be. HE wants to cut elderly benifits to enrich his wealthy. And your seein it with the 2026 HEALTH CARE.
I don't need EYE or hearin aid. I get the best care of that from VA. But DENTAL is a propblem. So's I look for plans that offer the most with no co-pays,no deductables, and offer full payment for all procedures up to a MAXIMUM amount.
I think I will stay with AETNA,but not sure. They offer $3700.00 if I take a VET program. And re-impurse on me PART B $70.00 because I not takin the drug part. I gets me DRUGS,MEDICATIONS, from the VA, so that part seems invitin. But when one goes to a DENTIST and they do major work, you need anti-boitics. Don't know what that costs without insurane. Right know it about $4.00. But meeesse teeth in good shape at moment. Was goin work on temp bridges and use te insurance for that.
But it those that not have my options with te VA. These peoples are TOTALLY FUCKED. And THE DRAFT DODGIN COWARD LOVES IT. HE goes on TE PLANE TE PLANE,look at me with ME, ME SON ERIC,and I goot a worm in me BRAIN, eatin DOUBLE CHEZZEBURGERS,BIG MACS, FRIES. and sayin this is SUMPTIOUS, even though you POOR FUCS can not afford to ENJOY.

JF, be careful about stating how you pay for dental work. It may be thrown in your face forever on this forum.
I have a Medicare supplemental plan and you are right, the monthly payment is pricey and constantly going up. Mine just went from 280 to 306 a month 2 months ago and in April it's going up to 320.
The RX plan is the worst of all 2023 29 a month, 2024 59 a month, 2025 89 a month, and next January it's going up to 118 a month.
Both plans are excellent though.
I never have a copay or deductible on the supplemental plan, and the RX copays are low.

JF,
I volunteer at a local VFW for two things... 1. Taxes ... 2. Medicare . I'm not and never was an insurance agent but I know my way around Medicare pretty well.
I looked at zip 60110 and there are a number of options. The best IMO is Aetna Medicare Duly Prime (PPO). Not an HMO
Copays
Primary Doc $0
Spec Doc $30
InPatient Hosp Stays .. $275/day for 5 days (So max OOP $1,375 for a hospital stay)
Preferred Generic $0
Generic $0
There's the ability to enter your own prescriptions and see what your annual cost will be.
Vision - Exam free .. 1 pair glasses free.
Dental -- Exam/X-rays/Cleaning $0 .. Any other dental is copay 20-50%. They don't cover replacing missing teeth at all. This is standard stuff. You're not gonna walk in as a senior and get full coverage for restorative/fillings and up. Not going to happen. BUT, you're getting those services at a discounted rate. If you need that kind of major work, SHOP AROUND.
Rated 4.5/5.0 ...
This is a very, very good plan. Stay in network. Link:

Want to thank you both for advise.
(1) He who has a hard time seein. I happy you can afford SUP. But you correct,it gone up big time. And there another proplem with I. Once one drops out and heads to advandage and then decides to head back to MEDICARE and SUP,the premiumes escalate even bigger. My QUESTION to you is? Why you not use VA for PRESCRIPTIONS. Why you not use VA as a backup. Are you even enrolled.
(2) Tanks MR.HOON. JOHN FRANK ARMY appreciates your r..To be continnued.

CAL. YA i have ATENA that plan you recommended currently. Me guess me TOOTHES in great shape at the moment. Me current dentist was shitcanned this year from program. I still have $900.00 left on Insurance which will cost me nuttin. Got me a new in NETWORK. Goin to use me last $900.00.
Here me real proplem. Would have PM you,but X-FINITY and VA have screwed that all up. Here me proplem. If I stick currently with the ATENA which I alredy have, you have explained the DENTAL. The rest is very good. But this me proplem. If I choose their VET program, which means I lose all MEDS,I get a repate of $70.00 on part B each month but I no not get any drugs. I will say this. My concern is if I came down with any CANCER treatment. I gets I an go to VA for CHEMO and any side effect MEDS. But IT a 40 mile drive, and I not think I want to do it. Better if I get treatment at a facility close to home. But if one thinks bout it: When one in that stage, one has a 5% chance of livin beyound a year. I'll probably stick with ATENA which I already have.
But I'SSS gotta say one last tin. This upomin year, all INSURANCE COMPANIES have downgraded their PLANS and made it more expensive for everyone.
But When you the DRAFT DODGIN COWARD POS TRUMP,why WORRY. HE GOT WALTER REED.
-
CAL: Forgot to mention.
If I go the VET program I get $3700.00 free for all DENTAL work. Which includes PARTIALS. I'sses in a DILIMA.

Another guy was asking me the same thing about VA scripts, I will look into it, thanks.
As far as the supplemental plans go congress ended the ability to get plan C and F in January 2020. Congress felt since plans C and F have no copays or deductibles people were using Medicare too much. Luckily, I already had a plan C and am grandfathered in as long as I don't change plans.
The Advantage plans stink because they have deductibles and copays and you are stuck using their network doctors.
With my sup plan C I can go to any health provider that accepts Medicare anywhere in the USA.
I have never paid a copay or deductible on my plan and I use it a lot.

JF, here is what I found out about the VA scripts,
To apply for the VA prescription program, veterans must meet the following requirements:
Service-Connected: Veterans with service-connected disabilities rated at 50% or higher are eligible for free medications related to any condition. Those with lower ratings may still receive free prescriptions if they are for their service-connected conditions.
Income Level: Low-income veterans may qualify for free medications based on their annual income and financial situation.
Former POWs: All former POWs are eligible for free VA medications regardless of their income or disability status.
Catastrophically Disabled: Veterans with catastrophic disabilities are eligible for free VA medications.
Aid and Attendance or Housebound Benefits: Veterans receiving Aid and Attendance or Housebound benefits are eligible for free VA medications.
VA Pension: Veterans receiving a VA pension are eligible for free VA medications.
Special Eligibility: Veterans with specific conditions like ALS may also
I may not qualify; I have no service-connected disability and don't have low income.

LET ME explain this to you.
I personnally jioned VA too late. I was always under me WIFES health insurance before she passed.
I f one had sighned up earliar their would have been 0 for MEDS. Since I sighned up later when me 66 I have to pay $5.00 a month .Since it a 3 month it $15.00. And I have a lot of MEDS. NOW,if you sighned up today: You would probably be payin the same. Their is this MONETARY requirement. If you make too much,YOOUSSE not eligible. But it high. And it not include investments. So if you just collectin SOCIAL,YOU would QUALIFY. And you can apply anytime. Don't know where a VA clinic be near you,but they very receptive to enroolin one and also those that have PRIVATE INSURANCE.
THEN another thin: AS far as DENTAL goes> Went today to new DENTAIST. ad $975.00 to use for anytin for rest of 2025. BRUTAL. Teeth cleanin,X-rays,and GUM examinations and I got chargered $750.00 clams. That ok. It all paid for.
But here what me want to say: I'M goin with the ATENA VET plan for 2026. It give me $3700.00 for any dental work done for year. No-CO,NO DEDUCTIPLE. BUT this program do not allow MEDS. Since I get from VA,not a proplem. Was worried about CHEMO and associated drugs should I need them, but they covered under MEDICARE. Other meds,I can just take to me provider at VA and she will write the prescription that I can take to PHARMACY and get it FREE.
NOW: PAY ATTENTION: On me MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN the most I can pay out of pocket is $5400.00. After that everythin is paid for. If one is lookin at SUPPLIMENTAL at a cost of $300.00 a month a I had plan D. Your lookin at $3600.00 a year. And since I never had to use it or the last 5 years, I have saved $19,000. And you know that DENTAL is not covered. And I get $3700.00 a year with no strings attached. Fiqure it out and you will get me meenin. You got time. JOHN FRANK ARMY does not try to SWAY anyone. He praticle. And you meesses VET BUD.

As far as i'm concerned all Vets should have free health care for life. They served their country and should get Health care, dental care. eyeglasses, etc. Zero deductibles. Zero Co-pays.

THANKS DOOOUGE.
TRY TO EXPLAIN. Just like PRIVATE,Dental ain't included in VA. Unless you got a DISABILITY,100% or be HOMELESS. They have know changed that to 75% disabled can get DENTAL care. I might add: 4 STARS can't get it,unless they meet disabled requirements. And I personnally don't get it. Proper teeth management is necessary to overall health. Over me years,I've seen freinds that never maintained,THEY DEAD NOW. Got to member. JOHN FRANK ARMY takes all MEDS. PEOPLE I knew went I not takin I need that money for bettin. It kind of SAD. The worst proplem is for those with no MOOLA,it immpossible at times to get proper teeth care. I's just watched a commercial for all new teeth and these 2 people smilin. The COST: $29,000 doolas. YEAH everyone has tat. I guess it a investment and cheaper than bysins a new car.
Their a proplem here though. I had 3 permanent bridges put in and it cost a FORTUNE. They eventually FAILED. NIGHTMARE. Same thin will happen tooo the BRIGHT TEETH SCAM. It will work for a while, and then the whole SHITTIN thin COLLAPES. Take it from a older WHO KNOWS.

Sorry for your dental issues. I agree that proper teeth managment is so important for a person's overall health. I have heard of many dentists who try to work with vets to assure their "out of pocket costs" are minimal. But not enough are doing it. Our crazy government under the last bunch of presidents "beat the drum" how much they love the Vets. Instead of just talk for unworthy adulation, our leaders should make sure Vets have zero medical costs. Other issues like homelessness and mental health services should be increased tenfold for those who have sacrificed so much. We waste our money on the desire to go to Mars, while our bravest heroes go hungry and unattended. A fucking disgrace.

JF, I think you misunderstand the medicare supplemental plan I presently have. It's not an Advantage plan, it's supplemental.
I have a zero deductible
I have zero copays
In the last 5 years I had several hospital stays and even an operation and paid zilch zero out of pocket. Under my plan I can see any doctor that accepts Medicare, no networks like the Advantage plans.
My uncle uses the VA plan and tells me it's often a long wait to get an appointment.
As far as dental I have an insurance plan that is 25.00 a month and pays for 2 cleanings and xrays per year and cuts the price for all other procedures in half.
