Title: Swedish Harness Racing
Post by: Trigger on October 10, 2025, 11:38:41 AM
Last night I was wondering what Per Henriksen up to since he left Mohawk several years ago.  Saw recently he was racing in Sweden.  So many others with similar names to those racing in the states, maybe just common there, maybe related i.e. Wallin, Melander...

Only a handful of ADWs in NA take Swedish Harness racing action (and the BigM onsite) and ATG is the second largest company in Sweden and is there Totalisator Board.  They offer extensive action, a weekly $1mil pick 7 jackpot.

I think I want to start delving into it, studying, wagering, any insights on the past performances matching up to ours, are the pools healthy, are they racing cleaner than here without the PEDs and everyone putting a solid effort in...?

Please advise if you follow, wager, have any insights!  This is the website I was reading last night, https://www.swedishhorseracing.com/ . Thanks  tmbz1

Per Henriksen said he left because he was getting up there in age, I believe he's in his 70's. I find it impossible to make heads or tails of their past performances. Also in Sweden, if you break stride, you're automatically DQ'd. Alot of their drivers are very old too so maybe he fits in better with them.

I read too to be close to the wife's parents there too.  For sure he ain't driving and googling the drivers he's using they're some young guys.  Dafgin Henriksen unrelated made out like a bandit when Per sold him Perfetto for $30k, horse has won several hundred thousand more since then.

Before I crashed last night I was studying the NZ harness performances and I watched one race last night, 4 horse field stakes at Addison I think with a super where the 1/5 won and the sup paid $6 for $1 base wager.  The NZ use meters, horse loses by 60 meters you divide that by 2.4 to get the lengths, after a while you do it your head or just adjust.
