Title: SPA Day XXXV, Wednesday, 8/27/25
Post by: Trigger on August 27, 2025, 09:01:24 AM
Next Monday, Labor Day, and it's over at the SPA, some light rain forecasted but nothing impactful likely but keep an eye in it, for now I'm going predictably with FAST & FIRM.  Low temps, high 60's to low 70's with a nice breeze.  Weather last night and tonight there low 50's to mid 40's,wow, they call this summer!  ngc3

They have two stakes other than the hurdle in the 1st which I always skip that I'm going to wager on.  The 2nd race, the Funny Cide Stakes which is a short field of 2yo c/g in a 6f sprint on the dirt, and the 8th, the P. G. Johnson Stakes, a field of eight 2 yo fillies going 1 1/16 mile on the Inner Turf.

I'm looking at four harness races in total at - The Meadows, Hoosier and Northfield.  All likely FAST tracks too.  Standby for selections and wagers.

GoOd LuCk!  ;D

When I heard the prayer, I said I'll throw 10 on each of these, only to find out I was an hour late.

Well done!   tmbz1

Awesome!

The King is back, with a great start in R1!

Love the way the 5 opened up at 17-1 (2-1ml), absolute Fav in dd payouts, exacta pools and 2nd / 3rd dd pays, just not a lot of early win money, now he's 12-1, now 6-1... ;D

The 3 in the 2nd race at the SPA is a brand new owner stable name, I think for someone who already has had success with horse investment groups the last 8 years or so.  First time starter, Irad, I thought they'd break their cherry, and the breeding was good too.

I should of went with your theory bet after a big slop win, but I didn't have the 5 over the 3, 11 exacta in a 4 horse field, was 10 the other way.  Wow!

Finger Lakes is treacherous bro, it's not normal like betting it previously.  Opportunity sure (big payouts) and you have the right idea, just hard to find one winner to use cold muchless 2 in the sequence.

Sorry man.. yeah the 5 was my top choice in race 2 and Ricardo is having a good meet.. Finger Lakes was totally bad on my part . 1 should have been the single in race 3 and all in race 2

I didn't sleep at all last night lol.

Busy with shit today.

Just not myself lol.

Good news I started with 78.08, so with a light win at the Meadows it gave me enough for today with so few races.

Will report a W or L after Northfield 14th ngc3

$1 Pick 4 at NFLD starting in race 2
1,2,4,5,7,8,9/3/2/1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9

I dont hate him.. he just isn't the driver he used to be. I used to bet on him and Mark at Scioto all the time.. hopefully it comes in 3-6 ;D Race 2 was a mess.. logical all button.. unfortunately I cannot do that with a base wager of a $1 for the pick 5

God bello Macdonald fucked us both there. All he had to do was sit in the pocket rather then retaking... and he wins that race easily. Fucking moron.

Macdonald take your "stable " turn it sideways and stick it up your ass.. just cost me a few hundred bucks easily. Ok I feel better now ngc3. So here is my NFLD pick 5 play.

1,2,6,7/3,4/2,4,5,6/4/1,2,9
$96 bucks

Not for me much either,  but the carryover is enticing. I usually don't play pick4's or 5's in harness.. Pools are to small. Yeah I saw that about Rhodes. I dont play Northfield much. Im very familiar with the drivers and trainers, but I just dont care for their racing product. I'd rather play Scioto.

So did Goldsheet Bob.

Glad im still alive. Looked like Lems was giving the 8 a training mile. Bet next time. #7 moved 3w vs his did too soon.  It was actually a good race.

It was a good race.. 1 or 7 winning would have benefited me more by potential payouts,    but we are both still alive and that is more important.. leg 1.. check..rooting for AMAC leg 2

I usually do not.. a very tough track to handicap... kind of like Turfway Park. Huge fields and lots of huge prices..even with as much as I spread, it's past my bankroll.

Here is the Kentucky Downs track configuration:

"The Kentucky Downs turf course is 1 mile 550 yards = 10 1/2 furlongs = 1 5/16 miles, with three turns.

The first turn is a sharp left-handed turn to the backstretch. Approximately 7 furlongs to the finish line, the course turns right. It then gradually turns left into the homestretch.

Kentucky Downs is one of two tracks in North America to feature a right turn – the other location is the downhill turf course at Santa Anita Park."

Sounds like last year they took in on avg. $1.2 mil per race in handle.  It seems to increase each year along with their ridiculously awesome purses:

Let's just say that was unfortunate.. if AMAC pulls sooner then 2 is boxed in or forced to pull and the 3 or 4 win the race
