He was a great jockey. I watched him many times on the NY Circuit. His ride on the great Secretariat were legendary. Rest In Peace.

he understood how Secretariat needed to be ridden and the two of them were a perfect match

RIP Ron, and finally you can get out of that chair and get back up on Big Red, and have Penny and Lucien cheering for you guys again!

Some years back there was a harness driver with the same name, Ron Turcotte.
He mainly raced at Freehold.

Kantseeback.....I think there was a Mel Turcotte at Pompano in the 80's & 90's.

French Canadian kid from the Maritimes, goes on to a great riding career and rides the greatest race horse of all time to a historic Triple Crown.
