Title: Ron Burke...16,000 wins!
Post by: Grandstand Handicapper on August 13, 2025, 08:29:36 PM
Like him/the operation or not, this is beyond an impressive accomplishment. Under 75,000 starts and 16,000 wins. More than twice as many wins than Virgil Morgan Jr. who is second place with just over 7800 wins. Compared to the t-bred side, Burke is way ahead of Steve Asmussen who is approaching 11,000 wins, and trails trainers Todd Pletcher, Steve Asmussen, Bob Baffert, and Bill Mott in earnings.

Like I said, like him/the operation or not, whether you think he's good for the business/sport or not, and soon-----his operation and accomplishments are simply unparalleled. While he has his critics, and virtually anyone successful does, they have done what nobody else has, and in all likelihood, never will.

Burke is amazing. And unlike some top thoroughbred trainers he owns pieces of most of his 250 horses.

Imagine if he didn’t test positive all those times he have 16,700 wins, better yet how many of those wins did those horses have drugs in them and at that time , they were not tested or could not be tested for that certain drug ? As the old saying goes, once a CHEAT , always a CHEAT !

I am not speaking to Burke specifically, but I do find it ironic that the customer lists that were made public, more didn't happen as a result. There were some very big names on those lists. Maybe they were buying legal and innocuous vitamins. But, maybe not.
