Navy - late 70's, I don't give out sensitive info about myself lest a certain lurker here shows up out of nowhere and beats me over the head with it.
6-year enlistment, 3 active/3 inactive reserve. Honorable discharge.
There was no war during my service, so I saw no action. remember NAVY stands for,
N - Never
A - Again
V - Volunteer
Y - Yourself

Thank you for your service as well.
My late father had the same enlistment as you but before Vietnam, he was Army 2 active and 4 IR.
My grandfather was also Army but I don't know how long he served. I know he fought on Okinawa in ww2 in the 77th division Army Statue of liberty division. He earned a few medals including the Bronze Star.

My husband loves Military/Army Movies, therefore I watch them as well. I don't like watching some of the same ones 27 times though, he does ngc3

Thank you MRS. SWANK. Your considered in since your husband served. ARMY too.
AS far as WAR MOVIES go: Who don't watch if they were in. Some are serious and some that are not.
And I guess we all watch no matter the ERA to see how it compares with one's EXPERIENCES.
KNOW can't remember the name of the comical one. JOHN CANDY,BILL MURRAY. But one really gets a kick out of watchin that one. Not that that happened in me time and never would have happended, but it was great. It in a comical way showed, the different personalitys of those actually in BASIC.
NO DRILL though would have put up with that though. But it was a good movie.
