Title: Woodbine Mohawk
Post by: MOHAWK FREAK on June 10, 2025, 03:38:34 PM
After watching every race by every horse in the final and using my special handicapping skills along with my harness education the winner should be: #8 Crack Shot.  I’m calling it early folks!!!! Just saying. Get what you can on him.

So you like him so well, you posted two indentical threads and comments about it. How thorough. 73cv.2
Gogas: 'HOPE' is clearly the operative word from the 8 hole. tmbz1

What happened to you boycotting until Randy gave you an on air apology?

YOU ARE 100% CORRECT.  I have boycotted all wagering there..  I actually watch the live segment on YouTube when I am not at the track.  All my bets are Meadowlands. They totally dissed the regulars when they did the mandatory payout on a Canadian holiday in the afternoon.  I am still waiting.  I have also cancelled my week long vacation in Campbellville.  Fuck em.

Do you think its possible that when they did the mandatory payout on a Holiday, they thought maybe it would bring in more revenue? Idk the answer, but it seems like someone thought it was a great idea.

The rollover money was amassed 100% by evening wagers, every fuckin cent. Then when it’s time to get a little opportunity for a decent payout they switch to afternoon card on a day there were probably people wagering and winning that never added a dime to the rollover. They just happened to be there during the day on a Canadian holiday. I feel that was big time BULL SHIT move and until I get an apology they can reach out to those afternoon betters they so much admire. I formerly bet woodbine every card.  Every hi5.  Guess what? You shit on me woodbine. Shame on you.

I hear you on this--i am sure they feel they don't have to explain themselves

some folks may be working during the day and missed the card....and they may have contributed to the carryover amount-so I understand your take

I completely understand what you mean and honestly would feel the same way, if It was my go to track. While I do bet Woodbine, I am not a faithful bettor there. I just bet them occasionally. They do have a great track and product.

I don't bet Mohawk very often and have never played it when there was the mandatory payoff because they usually hit you with a 12-horse field which makes the ticket too expensive to have enough coverage.

I'm not siding with anybody, but the track did make the announcement regarding the mandatory payoff 4 or 5 days in advance.

Like they always do. Always nice to announce it ahead of schedule.  The point is from my 45 years attending the races.  You have the daytime crowd and then you have the evening crowd. Very small percentage do both on a regular basis. Most All the carryover money went to people who could care less about woodbine.  They should have catered to their fans.  I’m no longer a fan of their administration.  I will still watch and root for my selections but they will not do me wrong again.  APOLOGIZE RANDY.  I KNOW YOU ARE READING!!!!

Their thinking was obviously, it's a holiday so more people will have off but some people still have to work on holidays. I still don't think Randy has anything to do with it. Obviously the track's only goal is to have the largest pool possible, and you're never going to please everybody.

Randy doesn't make those decisions for sure

Maybe he doesn't want to say anything negative about the people who sign his paycheck.

It's like these homer broadcasters for sports teams, they rarely if ever say anything negative about a player or the team unless it's totally called for. They don't want to ruffle anyone's feathers, it's also called job security.

I heard him the other night talking about a trotter that Scott Youngie was on. He said he was going to the Hambo and was in NW1. 8/5 when the gate was rolling and went off 1/9…. WOW…I was totally bewildered first how he said he was Hambo material and second that somebody actually listened to him.  He got BEAT in 55.4.  Sure what a prospect was he.

The times I've listened to him he doesn't strike me as a very good handicapper.

The last race went off well after people were out of work. No one works after 3 PM even if they are at work anyway at most jobs. It is not as if there will never be another mandatory payout. They and others seem to have them very often.

too bad they didnt put mandatory on the cup race only a 10 horse field but so many possibilities

too bad they didnt put mandatory on the cup race only a 10 horse field but so many possibilities

10 horse field=30240 possible combinations  10x9x8x7x6
12 horse field=95040 possible combinations  12x11x10x9x8

they always have the mandatory payout pentafecta on the last race

they are not doing this for the retail bettor
they are doing it to create more handle from Elite Turf Club
