Race#5-#6 LARRY KARR 7-2 ML Raced huge first start off the shelf, first up, a tactic he doesn’t generally deploy. I’d expect him to fire off the wings tonight.
Race#6-#8 JACK PANIC 5-1 ML Drops in class tonight, 2 besides him will take all the money, expect Drury to fire early, should make front or sit the deuce.
Race#8-#6 GRIN AND WIN 4-1 I’d expect this colt to be driven with more purpose tonight. Shows a couple big last quarters recently, odds will drop significantly tonight from double digits he’s been offering.
Race#10-#1 GEM QUALITY 8-1 ML They were crawling coming home last week, if he found a seam he would have won.racing free for all class tonight, in tougher, expect double digits in here, trainer does not go off at a price often.
Best of luck! tmbz1

Absolutely stacked card 11.wp !!

4:00 p.m. post time.

SIPPINONSEAROC wins elim tonight and final next week
-
how does the lasix effect horses that are racing today did they recieve their lasix last night before cancelation ?
-
They may very well be offering wagering on those 4 elims from last night, you can't on Twinspires.
They offered programs today that included those races but wagering or video unavailable on it now.
They are also listing 8:35 as starting time. If that is correct, that will cut into their drag time considerably.
-
My bad, there it is. Had a seperate matinee track selection.

So many nice colts , it’s wide open …
-
It is always interesting to see which trainers got their stuff into Canada.
-
Kinda cool that there just was a modest gathering in the Chantilly winner's circle.
I predict there will a substantially larger group next week.
-
Good Luck Lucpark and Avanti. tmbz1

I think Dunns filly gets the best of if it next week. Pretty underwhelming first NA cup elimination.

I have no idea what the driver was thinking
Horse was not giving a chance to race
At all.
-
Race 5 action - trying exacta 69 - 3569
-
In race 6 the #5 looks cheap, does get Gringras, & the form looks good.
Win & place
-
Whip: Kind of embarrassing but with all these elims for different races I lost track of who vs who.
After you said that I realized it was Chris' horse vs. Chantilly. I'm with you and I hope we're right.
Best not to be bet against Ryder with fillies. Should be a Classic though hopefully! tmbz1

Where’s Middleton?
-
Wow, that Beaton horse just blew the doors off the field as the front end collapsed the last 150 yards
-
Aptly named at least for tonight, 'Lite Up The World!! Shot out of a cannon!
Beaton-JMac. Clearly stamped himself as the one to beat and I haven't seen
the last elim. yet. In a word: IMPRESSIVE.
-
This has been an action packed card tmbz1

Lucpark, I'd be pissed at that drive as well.
Got away nice 4th, but get out first over if you have to. It may not be the perfect trip, but once you are trapped on the rail, it's all over. You get shuffled back and all you can hope for is a miracle on the rail.

Obviously overmatched....

Anyone using TT is about two years late, just like all before him he's losing the battle to father time. No shame there, it happens to all of them but to use him anywhere outside of Dover for a big race is a bad business decision. Hope he doesn't stick you with travel costs but we all know what those drivers are like. Long season LucPark, I sincerely hope you get some better drives and trip out to a nice payday or two.

after race his zact words
"IM SORRY TOTALY MY FAULT,",

waste of 4 days of traveling and 8000 entry fee,,
my horse is good not great,,we just wanted to see him race
he has a grand circuit win last yr in the ELEVATION...

Where’s Middleton?
Ken suffered a serious injury is a training accident awhile ago--came back as announcer ...now i hear he is mainly concentrating on training and breeding his horses--a great guy
i feel Rozema is a decent race caller--always gets bashed here--of course as not as good as Ken
the big loss is Robert Reid not doing the Horseplayers Journal--he was excellent
Barnet Garnsdale(as the late FATBOY would call him)...I think he sucks
-
Anyone know why Reid isn’t doing horseplayers journal now? As far as Barnsdale goes, not even worth the read. Best bets are 2/5 etc. they should find someone who can do a good job with that write up, it’s a big part of reading the program.

Reid is in training to be an Agco judge
-
the final of na cup should be good
fallout doesn't make it ??? yikes for timmy and tony

Totally agree rabbit. I always enjoy your analysis and explanation of your picks there tmbz1
-
I heard this story 6 mo ago. How long does it take to learn to be a judge? Methinks something else may be amiss.
As long as I have the podium, I disagree with our esteemed rodent. I think Barnsdale is a good handicapper who gives out decent priced winners fairly often.
Rallis is very astute and observant. Gives out solid stuff. Also somewhat careless with the English language which will be obvious to anyone who reads him regularly. Would benefit greatly from a proofreader.
OK, so he's no Salive yet, but Rozema is a solid announcer and continues to improve. Too bad Ken can't announce and train both. He's obviously much better at one of those chores.

-
Didn't Rozema apply to be a judge, but didn't get accepted.
Maybe Reid got the coveted judge's role instead.
Best gig in harness racing.
-
I know Jason Portuondo.left to become a racing official, not sure about Chad
-
Over the last few years Rozema has bounced around....was the manager of Grand River Raceway at one point..left there to train for an Agco job, but left there to return to his Weg job...analyst and host and now, seemingly the new racecaller at Weg......although no formal announcement has been made...and Rallis will be Waples, sidekick in June..after that who knows
-
I like Chad & think he's a decent handicapper. He doesn't always pick the favorite. The show improved tremendously by getting rid of that clueless woman.
-
If they got rid of Randy Waples, who can't handicap his way out of a paper bag it would be even better.
-
Randy thinks like a horseman. He has no gambling instinct at all.

-
Tonight 10th race, you get double Waxman and double Barrington. Reminds me of
that Mcqueen smelly race with two going way faster than their times on the sheet
last week. Wonder which one of these 'worked the best' this week. ;D

pretty much agree about his handicapping
but he does bring a perspective that isnt from the bettors viewpoint
sometimes shoes, sometimes possible reasons for layoffs, personally knowing most of the Canadian trainers, etc
trip analysis, explaining fractions that most wouldnt agree on, etc
terrible if he bets no doubt
it should be Randy and Rallis year round--and never let Blowe on the harness set again, she is the pits
what happened to Monique? tbreds I assume?

She got fired I'm pretty sure.
-
Randy is a funny guy. Him and the 'baby' Greek together are worth the price of admission.
I don't listen to or read any of them. If they knew wtf they were doing, they would be firmly ensconced at the $100 window. 2 cents
-
Racetracks feel the need to have women as on-air analysts whether they're qualified or not because they think it might attract more male viewers.

Actually McQueen was interviewed by Agco about those horses...but i dont think anything came of it

claiming something off The Cullen clan can be dangerous....but Henry chose that one over the horse he won 3 in a row with....other horses in that race may offer a better price
After Moreau was suspended Waxman.s barn laid low with very little success....but now that its kinda quieted down ,his horses have been heating up....hhmm
also young Malik Smith an employee of Moreau claimed a few and was successful..but now that Moreau is gone his figures have nosedived

Randy went in to very specific descriptive detail on Saturday night about a shit he saw a horse take in warm ups

yes--he said it was a watery evacuation and that can be a concern
he is not a bettor but has plenty of insights on other aspects-

But his insights are often very very dated. Repetition doesn't make things true. Still, he is a welcome contrast to almost every other analyst.

Oink Oink Oink .The Dity lil Piglet down the road in 1:49.2. Track is blistering tonight.
2nd race went in 1:50 + change.
-
1:49:2 bottom claimers in the winter, unbelievable!!! Lol
-
Winter?? Where you posting from Antarctica? ;D
-
if final quarters and final times are so beloved by the fans and industry--then take a look at Lexington in the fall, where $5k claimers go in sub 149 and final quarters go sub 26 for average horses
that virtually lessens all the 148 and sub 148 miles turned in by top class horses
I don't think the obsession/clock staring will stop anytime soon
enjoy these meaningless numpers
-
I get you, the times are often meaningless as he would get stomped in lesser times by better
'BUT. times do matter [how do you do your handicapping?] and it's fun to see 53.4 half 1:21.1 3/4.
To each his own though.
-
I rarely play "buggy" racing anymore--but when I did--it was video replays, who they raced against, and of course the connections
final times and final quarters were at the bottom of my list
but as you say...to each his own
of course back in the 80s and 90s I looked at final times much more seriously--but "times"(no pun intended) have changed
-
Capone’s horse was vicious in the 1st tmbz1
-
I meant he was racing bottom claimers in the winter, I’m sure he’ll be back there again in a few months after the hot suppers take their toll.

You are saying Tackoor deals in chemistry...legal or illegal.?...Good gosh say it isnt so..lol
