I mean subsidy. No, I mean incentive. No, it's money! LOL.

Not that a harness track could afford this, and CA is an island unto itself, but the concept is just. Imagine a few local tracks competing with incentives for trainers and horses. More devisiveness.

NYRA giving $1000 to owners and $500 to trainers for all horses finishing 4th or worse in overnight races during the week of the Belmont. $1500 and $750 for stakes races.

One of my trotters was getting a 25% bonus in meadowlands races that were NJOS, and another was getting a 30% bonus for being a Maryland bred at Rosecroft.
