I was away from the forum a few years and he seems to have dissapeared. I liked watching his Youtube videos, they were very entertaining.
A lot of guys on here used to rib him about using elephant juice on his horses and rib him about his pick sheet, 5 bucks, 5 bucks, 5 bucks etc.

Was it elephant juice? Etorphine? I thought I remember hearing something about a few guys in Chicago getting caught and getting positive tests for something marketed as M-99 or something like that.
Was it Dan or his brother who got caught?
-
Dan’s greatest video was when he went on a rant about track personal calling him “undesirable”.
-
He is an undesirable.

I am not positive because some people posted elephant juice and some people posted M99.

I met Dan and Scott when I went to Chicago when they were still training, before they got into trouble. They offered to let my trainer ship into their barn, they'd help us out, take care of us, etc. Nice of them to offer. The one thing I noticed about them is that they never had anything nice to say about anybody. They found out my trainer and I were friends with Butch Paisley and they went off on him like he was Hitler. Same with Tom Harmer. Just a lot of negativity, bitterness, jealousy, envy, etc.

Scott was listed as the trainer when caught testing positive for M-99--so technically it was his fault
Dan is probably still suggesting his 4 horse exacta boxes every race--and they win and come back paying $9.20--he pats himself on the back and tells everyone how great the "Nance Rating System" is
he took out a large mortgage for a home in Summerlin, NV and reportedly overpaid heavily during the "toxic mortgage "era of our economy
he did conduct some hilarious internet video shows--one time he got drunk on wine and had "Michigan Dale" co-hosting-although Dale couldnt get a word in
he was taking calls from viewers and getting his balls roasted pretty good on those evenings-funny stuff

I don't know anything about his LV escapades, LOL. I talked to them whenever I was in Chicago and I can't remember if I ever saw them at the Meadowlands, except once years later after they were no longer training. I do know they became "touts" and were selling selections in LV. I knew a guy in Chicago a bit who was pretty close with them, but even he said they were kind of like kids wanting/trying to be cool, part of the cool crowd, etc. I think they were trying to be bloodstock agents at one point, but they never tried to sell me any horses, LOL. Someone said years ago Scott was trying to get a job in NJ as a second trainer, but again, I have no idea if that's true.

I never met him, but being from IL, I thoroughly enjoyed him and the stories he told.
I wish him only the best.

Dan Nance was once not much different that myself here. With exception of his drugging horses. But what he did do was say it like it is. He never backed down. He posted as himself. He endured you fucking cowards talking shit about his personal life and relationship he had with his daughter. Because that's what shit shoveling lowlives have to do to feel better about their pathetic existences knowing they will NEVER be any more than what they are right now. Few here are equipped with any skills or education to do more than show up at a barn every day for minimal pay in a welfare infused industry crying they need the handouts because they "know nothing else". And dats da fact....jackasses .

Thanks. I heard him on a podcast or something my friend sent me. They both living in LV and out of the business. I think they owned a horse or something that was racing in Chicago at the time. They both seemed to have grandiose accounts of their own accomplishments in the business, and they both sounded very bitter. Dan was ranting and raving about winning the World Trotting Derby or something, and someone pointed out that it was the Trotting Derby Fair Stake or something that happened to be at DuQuoin. Kind of funny. I guess if it promoted their tout business, so be it.

It's a dead game Laddie tmbz1

Is he the the guy that nobody had numpers like him?
He would wheel and box everything and not actually show the winning combination, but claim he hit when big payouts came! ngc3

Dan Nance was once not much different that myself here.
Come on now.
Dan was consistent top 10 in Chicago for years and won a couple hundred races.

Were they really top trainers? I mean, I never followed Chicago racing daily. Always kept an eye on it, a few horses here and there, and always, always watched the stakes races. I kind of remember one of the brothers being in the top 10, maybe even the top 5, but I think that was for a meet or two, a year or two, etc.-----but I don't remember them being a top trainer or major factor for any substantial period time. Maybe a flash in the pan kind of thing. Weren't they more of a face in the crowd? I remember various agents trying to sell some of their horses every now and then.

Dan and Scott are good guys basically. A lot of people thought Scott was the brains of the barn back in the day, while Dan just was a paper trainer. I'm not sure of that but they did well with their horses. Many of their owners liked them. The 1 thing I didn't like was Dan passing himself off as a great trainer and huge gambler. He was neither. Scott was better in both areas. Scott talked to everyone; Dan kept to himself mostly.
Heard Dan wanted to move to Florida. Scott was at Hoosier last year but my friend Buzz in Vegas said he saw Scott there 3 weeks ago and he was hanging in the sportsbook at Red Rock or Suncoast.
To be honest it was easy for them to get the boot because no one liked their owners and no one would vouch for them and put themselves on the line. When they found stuff in Scott's car a,good lawyer would have gotten him a short suspension. Instead he got almost a death penalty. Sux
