Has had and is having a pretty nice career. Only encountered him a couple
times, Once at Meadows and once at The Red Mile. Seemed pretty cool. tmbz1

about 13 years ago he drove Jerseylicious(who turned in to a Grand Circuit filly) for Wayne Givens and he handled her almost flawlessly for most of her career

He drove at Meadowlands for a while but could never win enough races with his horsepower, so he finally gave up 2 years ago. The long drive from Delaware just wasn't worth it.

if he shows up at Ocean Downs for Hans in a MDSS event--i always take notice

Googoo Gaagaa and many Goo's and Gaa's have done ok over the years for a small outfit

I'm sure you remember Corey was the regular driver of Googoo Gaagga, who was a very fast horse.

If he drove at meadowlands during a winter like this one or the last couple he probably would have done very very well.  Have to remember when he was doing the commute to meadowlands Dunn, Mccarthy brothers, Dave Miller etc were driving in the winters

Maybe so, but it's such a long drive for lousy purses with so many amateur races. He has 4 fairly young children too which may also be a deterrent. He probably just wants to be closer to home.

He likes too over drive when he's on the favorite. Trying to imitate Tetrick.

Best decision to stay local and big a big fish in a lil pond then tackle with the big boys!

In spite of that he hasn't been the leading driver at Harrington in recent years. Even last year when Tetrick only drove at Dover on Thursdays after the 1st of the year, Tony Morgan was the leading driver. What's hurting him is driving too many of his father's horses.

he doesnt drive at Harrington or Dover on an everyday basis so he wont compete for any titles

i would call it semi retirement

Corey never misses a night at Dover and is at Harrington every night too. Only Tony Morgan had more starts at Dover than Corey, 803 to 799, Tetrick had 621 because he didn't drive on Mondays.

oh wow

my fault

then he should be competing for titles

Montrell the best driver on the circuit--not sure why he isnt listed on as many everyday

Montrell only had 555 drives at Dover and seems to do better at Harrington. For someone 66 years old, Tony Morgan can still drive.

I met Corey briefly at the Meadowlands. It was after being interviewed on the tv set. He was friendly & seemed like a real good guy.
Congratulations!
