Title: Meadowlands to suspend drag for Championship Meet

There's a new article on Harness Racing Update that says, beginning with their Championship Meet on May 2nd, Meadowlands will be suspending the drag. Gural goes into the thought process behind it.

they will continue to drag--but it wont be as bad

Gulfstream did this 5 years ago--then they went back to long drag

If the bettors know they're going to start at post time, they'll adjust accordingly and wager earlier. I don't care how long the drag is, a person is still going to bet the same amount of money, not more.

You lose action junkies betting the whatever race has zero minutes ti post when you kill the drag, not the regulars

I don't care if you go out to dinner and they serve shit every 30 minutes, or every 5 minutes. It's still SHIT.  ngc3
