I've long said many racetracks will---and should close---but CD is one of the model tracks of the future.

I guess they couldn't survive without CAW's and their betting, subsidies, and government support. Yeah, right. LOL.

When it's talked that 'THE SPORT' is dying, generally it is referring to 'HARNESS' racing.
Especially considering this is a 'HARNESS' forum. Still some interesting info. Obviously
it won't be happening 'EVER' at a harness track.[at least in North America]

Except for the Kentucky Derby weekend, the place is very empty. I cannot figure out why all the money is being spent.

Kentucky and Arkansas are recipients of massive funding from historical racing machines

it pays for huge purses, renovations, and whatever else they want

the money they receive from handle is relatively low except for the first weekend in May
