Whoever wrote the original agreement, both at pompano and gulfstream, etc, should have included language that the racing cannot be separated from the casino as long as there is a casino.

pompano has absolutely nothing to do with gulfstream
there is such language for gulfstream--but Stronach is only required to race 40 days a year--they can pull the plug on year round racing whenever they want and just race the minimum with Mountaineer quality races
they can race 40 days of garbage until the horsemen agree

After they got away with closing Pompano it should have been obvious Gulfstream would be next, but of course they thought it would never happen to the thoroughbred elite.
