Title: IS 3 MILLION A NIGHT HANDLE A THING OF THE PAST AT THE BIG M
Post by: Locked in with pace on December 15, 2024, 07:58:22 AM
Closer to 2 million even with all the amateur races and full fields. How long can they survive when they are already being funded by Gural.

As long as Jeffery keeps dipping into his pocket. Those pockets are 82 years old.

All Gural does is cry and complain how he's losing money and funding the place, but what he never tells you is how much he's getting from the FanDuel Sportsbook inside. On the other hand, his lapdog Jason Settlemoir continues to brag about the handle, full fields, low takeout, opportunities to make a big score, etc. What he doesn't tell you is how bad the racing product and drivers are. Who really wants to see the amateur drivers 3 or more times a night?

With the exception of 2 or 3 guys, it looks like they run 14 amateur races a night.

Mohawk handle appears to be down too. Is it bad racing or something else?

Xmas as well as poor racing.
Mohawk stealing conditioned 8 claimers from B tracks to run "Pop Up" series.

Pathetic.

There is a shortage of better horses everywhere. Owners are dying off, or getting out and not being replaced. Only a small percentage of stables make money for their owners. For the people still in it, why re-invest when you lose money? The younger generation has no interest in this business. It's reality, and unfortunately, this will be the trend from now on.
Look at the retail world. Look at all the stores that are closing. Why: The younger generation would rather shop online, get it delivered to their house the next day, and have no hassle of returning it.
The world is changing. Did you ever think that people can order McDonald's on their phones, have it delivered to their house, and, with fees, pay $22.00 for a Big Mac Value meal?
