Where does the MADC purse money come from at the Meadowlands?

Is it from the purse account? Is it supplemented? Why are purses for those races so high?

Has anyone checked the dollar amounts being bet on the amateur races' vs the regular races?  Maybe, just maybe there is a 'side deal' as to why this occurs!
