Post by: Harness racer on December 12, 2024, 11:17:08 PM
Had a bunch scratched and listed trainer under suspension today at PHL.  Finally serving time for those 6 or 7 positives in April or did he do something else?

Who's going to be the new beard (Wisher) what we're working on number 5?

Looks Like Tim Crissman is finally on vacation as well. Scratched today TUS.

What a great time when most shut down for a week or two!

They'll sort out the beards in a few days and it will be back to normal. This isn't new to them, this is rinse and repeat, they don't even change trucks, trailers, harness. EVERYBODY KNOWS

It is ordered on December 9th, 2024 that the Maryland Racing Commission finds that appellant, John Wagner, is the absolute insurer and is responsible for ADB-Fubinaca being present in the horse at the time of racing. As a result, the commission has ordered that the appellant must pay a $5,000.00 fine, and must return all purse monies. In addition, the appellant will be issued a 360-day full-suspension from December 9th, 2024 through December 3rd, 2025. During this suspension, he and all horses trained and/or owned by him or his wife are barred from the grounds under the jurisdiction of the Maryland Racing Commission. It is further ordered that the appellant, John Wagner, must reapply and receive approval from the Maryland Racing Commission to obtain any license once his suspension is completed.

I see some are already in to go in Wisher's name. That did not take too long. The show goes on.

When you get to pick your starting days for serving suspension, it's easy to get your ducks in a row before hand.

If you notice a while back the horses started showing up in others names to prepare.  So many in Kelsey's name since John and the Mrs. aren't allowed to own during this time.  What a fucking crock of shit!

Oh good...I was worried the cheats would continue to steal money.  Not sure why state or federal authorities aren't alerted to this.  It's so much more than just some other guys name is now down.  Money laundering, tax evasion/fraud, etc.  Why doesn't anyone care about this.

3 ways to "beat the cheats" ie "Beards"

1) Ban the horse(s) same as the trainer

2) The horse(s) cannot be within 5 miles of its original stable

3) Forensic accounting for all trainers who accept horses from banned trainers

Banning the horse is the best and only way to prevent that particular horse.  Rest of the stable is tough to get around.  And don't really need a beard anyway, why not just go to another fucking cheat?

Yes its whats happening now and that is exactly why you need number 3---if one cheats horses all go to another trainer-then that trainer should be made by the Judges to bring ALL his financial records to them or the presiding state steward-and examined. Remember--a banned trainer is not allowed to make ANY income from horse racing while hes suspended. If he does-then hes in even bigger trouble. It will quickly stop "bearding"-hidden ownership/training/ breeding etc.

I think it's just a no-win situation.  Judges and commissions don't care enough to police it and will claim they aren't staffed for that.  But when it's obvious, such as old trainers colors and truck and trailer, throw the book at everyone involved.  But they barely take any action at all.  Had to be taking a ton of pressure to ban Oakes from bearding for Alexander at Yonkers.  They are as corrupt as it gets.

Where does it say a banned trainer can't make any money from horse racing?
From racing horses, sure.
But he can't lease his trailers, or rent out stalls if he owns a farm?
