If this asshole really killed a horse by tubing him, how and the hell is he allowed within 100 miles of any racetrack? Guy should be in jail!!

When he worked for Allard before he went to jail.

Well you won’t see him on the program because he’s banned. He claims one and it has to go in his parents’ name.

Wasn't he fixing 1/4 cracks about 20 to 25 yrs ago? Haven't heard the name in about that long.

I doubt he knows how to do that. Anyone that’s been in the game that long and is just a warm up guy and groom has to be a dumb ass.

Ian McKinley is still patching quarter cracks.

True story. I was there. Shawn Christner refused to run tubes for Rene. So Dr Kaufman stepped in a lunged one. Denis who worked for Rene covered the horse in coolers while it was over 90 degrees and said you can sweat it out of them. There's a top stable for ya. Horse died hidden in trailer next to barn. Kaufman kept screaming he was in stomach.

Can I please have the year and location of this incident? I am going to email the race office. If they don’t respond, other actions will be taken. This guy has to go.

What a piece of shit this guy is. Killed a horse and he makes a salary taking care of them today. Come on!

Each and every one of us should email the race office. This guy is yet another reason why we are circling the drain as a sport/industry. The office may ignore us but they need to know that they do not operate in a vacuum. They need to know that eyes are open and people know what they are doing and do not approve. We should flood their in-box.

Joe Frasure Jr., jfrasure@empirecitycasino.com is the email as far as I know. Emails should be polite. I am emailing tomorrow. I will introduce myself, explain my connection to harness racing and ask for confirmation as to whether Kauffman is employed there (or working for someone else and allowed access to race facilities) and ask if so, how is this possible due to his background (insert link to his suspension) , and state my displeasure and ask for an investigation and his removal. I will explain that his employment is a black mark on Empire City's business in spite of any permission/licensing from NY State Racing authorities. Empire City can, and must, do better.

Thank you! This is not only about his suspension…we have knowledge from someone who was at the farm that he killed a horse. I will emailing as well. I really hope others on here will do the same. This guy needs to go.

Good morning! Hope everyone is ready to send emails today! I will be cc’ing the SOA on mine. More eyes that see it, the better. We are fighting for justice. If someone murdered a human, they would go to jail. This is no different.

Forget about fighting Joe Frazier , your fight is with the Gaming Commission. They are the people who reviewed his application and record and decided licensing him is in the best interest of racing and the betting public.

This will never show up on his record because he was never charged. Our job now is make him aware so nobody can claim not knowing anything about it. He killed an innocent living creature.

It's more like nobody gets in there without a history of criminal behavior. It's like a western movie, with all the outlaws hiding out in the mesa.
Bringing this to the track's attention will probably only add to his street cred.

The guy has to be banned. Worst case the race office ignores it and further steps can be taken down the road.

He is the scum of the earth. Can’t drive, train or own, but he’s allowed to be a groom and a warm up guy. He belongs in jail. Ian, I hope you read this. You are a murderer!

One of the worst drivers to ever set foot on a Yonkers surface, did he ever win a race that the others didn't want him to?  He does good warm-up work, just ask him he'll tell you.

Won a $6,000 race at Pocono today with a horse he gave Per Engblom $45,000 for. On the phone in winner’s circle like he won the Hambo. Just go away you horse killing poor excuse for a human being.

I would never defend his actions-but he's far from the only one.
Google up Marc Mosher or search for him here on plop.

The real question is why does the USTA even approve a conditional license for him? No USTA license and he's stuck in Maine with Case. Conditional means they actually admit what he is, yet let him compete. Could it be his brother in law made some calls? Or the USTA is just a fucking joke.16 pages of violations recorded. Meanwhile people who have NEVER done a damn thing wrong are detrimental to harness racing.

He must not have rubbed him this week. He must have rubbed Greg the leg this week. Forte must be really desperate to have him as a groom. No idea how you can have a guy working for you that killed a horse.

Here’s your chance to improve one off Ian Kaufman. Horse has no issues according to the post, except for the fact that he’s in the care of a horse killer!
